A poem is a vessel in which anyone can express their innermost emotions, fears, triumphs, losses, and narratives. It can serve as a cathartic activity that may reveal thoughts that were previously unknown even to the author of the poem. I know that in trying times, I have used the power of poetry to my advantage by engaging in a sort of "word vomit" onto a blank page. What are some poems that you find inspiring?

Declining to Fail

with sparks of madness wild eyes wide
teeth and claws like daggers preside
ripping, tearing, scraping, scratching, those claws
no escape from the mightiest of jaws
merciless dogs, wolf packs too much to bear
caution as back of the neck standing hair
blood now streaming forth, every attack
standing the ground decide no looking back
experiences, life’s preparedness
pressed on abandonment such recklessness
with calm if ever was now in the past
beat, thrashed and assailed a constant harassed
the scars of before with no time to heal
fear of becoming surrendered last meal
no calm no quiet never relax, guard
full life is lessons and always learned hard
for were it simple easily achieved
all that surrounds isn’t there you’re deceived
battles are fought dogmatic conviction
affliction’s with an upheld position
living or dying or dying to live
suffer transgressions forgiveness to give
pressing on push forward not to give in
the vermin the goblin combined such kin
evil to thwart to them hunting for sport
out on ones own distinct lack of support
to suffer, to learn, to ever prevail
persistence provides solutions, declining to fail
