In difficult situations, I tell myself, “well, it’s an experience.” Sounds daft but it helps so much, maybe because it separates me from the problem and reminds me that, one day, it’ll be just a memory.
Also, when I mess up: good judgement comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgement.

I read a book that I've read before. It calms me that I know exactly what's going to happen, and that what happens does not affect me. It always helps me put things into perspective and calm down.
I also like making bracelets.

Listen to music that reflects what I'm feeling. It's like I'm acknowledging what is going on in my head and allowing myself to feel that way. I remind myself that I am loved and valuable, and just an imperfect human like everyone else. I have a mentally draining job and some people I interact with try to throw power at me, making me feel tiny. I take the control back, make it clear to them that I may have a job to do but I have allowance to refuse to put up with negative behaviour. This self-advocacy always feels great.

Generally, metal music - louder and thrashier the better. But not loud enough to bother anyone of course. For more urgent calm - high pressure warm shower, water on the top centre of my back. The only thing that can totally calm me. Like I collapse in a heap relaxing, so good.

I aggressively drink water when I am stressing. It's the action of drinking that distracts me.Long cold showers and crying while the water hits your head helps.I've never learnt swimming or gone to a water body, only ever seen the sea once when I was a child,I really think any form of water can calm anyone down.I hope it helped.

Years ago, after a medical incident, I had horendous panic attacks. I couldn't eat or sleep. Barely able to walk. My doc saw me through it and told me a good thing to always remember. An actual panic attack, as opposed to general anxiety, has a shelf life of about 20 minutes at about which time those body chemicals will have worn out. It seems like a long time when you're in it. I just remind myself of that and I stop panicking about the panic attack. That's half the battle right there.

I do art in my coloring books.

Cuddle with my cat.

1. When I’m angry : look into the mirror, normally it will calm me down, I hate how ugly I am when I’m mad, punch or throw something soft like a pillow. 2. When I’m nervous : take a long and deep breath several times, listening to the comfort song/instrumental, try to see far away, green scenery or sky scrappers 3. sad : hug my cat, or if I’m away watching funny cat videos

For me, when someone upsets me I find it helps to talk it through with someone. Tell them why you're upset and ask for their opinion before you act towards the other person- it's helpful to gain a different perspective, so that you don't end up making anything worse.

When I'm angry, I like to sit on my bed with a nice snack, like some strawberries or a biscuit, and listen to an album that reflects the opposite mood to what I'm feeling- basically, happy music! There are some great playlists like this on Spotify
