Not only that my parents saw no problem that a 6 y.o. kid was witnessing their screams, insults and fights, but my father also threatened me when I complained to my grandmother. He claimed that what happened in our house should stay a secret. I was 6 y.o., ffs.

That one time when the Senior Master Sergeant decided to berate me an call me a deployment dodger. From day one of the military, I constantly volunteered. The first duty station said they couldn't send me because if they did, they wouldn't have anyone to complete the mission (my job) at home. The next station said, if you went who would be there to look after your wife and kids, a well as the no one left to do the mission. The week before she berated me about this, I had talked to my major and the command center pratically begging to let me go help with the Ebola outbreak (was medic). Denied for above reasons. I hope she rots in the depths of hell.
