Hey Pandas, What Is The Best And The Worst Thing That Happened To You So Far This Year? (Closed)
I had seen something similar, the high and low of the week. I personally liked it a lot. So thank my shower thoughts for storing it to bedtime thoughts and to my fingers here!

My husband passing away. My very shy cat jumping onto my lap for some tlc (she misses him too).
The worst thing to happen to me this year: losing my 16yr old nephew and my 52 year old brother in law three months apart. Best thing? My cancer is gone 😊
I started the year with my SO, whom I absolutely adore.
Two days ago we had to put my dearly loved and crazy old dog to sleep.
Worst: Two hospital stays. 5 nights for back pain and leg weakness. Followed 10 days later by 4 nights for blood clots in my lungs.
Best: Being back home with my husband and cats!
Worst: my mom dying of cancer.
Best: becoming an auntie for the first time :)
I am sorry for your loss. But being an Auntie will open new doors! So I wish you the best!
Best: Getting approved by the rescue shelter to adopt our new doggo today!
Worst: Catching Covid. It wasn't too bad though because I've had my jabs.
Worst: working at a job with a toxic environment where I felt worthless, unvalued and ignored. Best: Getting a new job I love and continuing my schooling towards earning my degree at 40 years old.
Best: eating anything I like and still losing weight. Worst: the terminal diagnosis.
Best: Falling in love and finding a true soulmate after being single for 20 years after losing my wife to cancer.
Worst: Finding out my gas fire was dangerous and should have been condemned years ago even though it kept passing it's annual safety check.
My mom getting better after battling schizophrenia for 11years.And then she relapsed
best: i've got my new job a year ago and i'm finally overcoming imposter syndrome and i started seeing friends again...
worst: got corona last week
I hope you get better! Covid is harsh on your lungs so I pray that you recover fully!
getting a GF and the worst ( I haven't really had a bad year) getting temporary suspended on BP
finally got comfortable in my school then moved to a new one
I'm sorry, I can relate. My father was in the military so we moved A LOT! I would get comfortable in one school, then move to another, even after my father left the military I still move schools a lot. Rn I am homeschool, and my mom plans to keep it that way, but I want real friends...
getting an acceptance letter to be a counselor at a summer camp.... in Alaska.
They said i have PCOs, can't get pregnant.
I'm giving birth at 31 next week
Turns out, it was a medical scam, no cysts, just a little overweight. Losing 10 pound, happy marriage and a caring life partner has solved everything
Best: I went back to public school
Worst: My dad has Heart problems ( he is 65)
Oh, I'm so sorry about that. I hope you have many more great memories to make with him!
Worst: Getting coronavirus and then missing out on my state meet because of it.
Best: I guess getting shots and stuff is great
I got to see my best friends do their play, in person. 3rd time ever that I've seen them, because we became friends over quarantine. My mom had a fight with my dad, and relationships with our extended family have worsened to the point that they nearly had a 'text fight'.
Didn't really happen to me, but...
Worst: one of my friends was in an accident.
Best: in three weeks he was nearly perfectly fine.
Amazing because they weren't sure if he would live and three weeks later, no real problems except slight trouble reading but by now he is completely fine.
BEST: Got a fantastic job 100% working from home!
WORST: Sitting all day working from home gave me hemorrhoids.
Best: Reconnected with a buddy from many years ago.
Worst: My wife's health keeps deteriorating.
worst: getting hit by a car. (im better now)
best: getting a better boyfriend!!
Wohoo! No more bad boyfriend! Also congrats to getting well after getting hit by a car!
best: got to deepen some old friendships
worst: this is not in my personal life, but the news is pretty depressing...
Best: I got to travel ALOT which I love cause I get to see my extended family!
Worst: had to put my 15 year old chihuahua down😭 I have known her my whole life!!
... I wish I could help you, my dog was old, blind, and going deaf. She had her since I was around 4, I had known her for what seemed like forever. But about year ago we had to put her down due to a a dog fight. Horrible.
Bad: breaking my foot, having surgery, not walking for >6 weeks
Good: my husband doing the cooking
I fear breaking my bones. Not to mention getting surgery, I hate to imagine someone cutting my skin open, stitching it up with needles, and so on... (Not to mention the blood. 🤮) When I see someone bleeding [even on tv] I have to apply pressure to my rists. Idk why my rists... but it feels like someone is pushing my bone out of place but in both directions...
Worst thing: my dog died and cat died in the same 2 weeks, both from a stroke (dog was 2, cat was 18)
Best thing: I got a girlfriend and I'm super happy!!!!
I'm sorry. Loosing them so close together like, that's just so sad. Please be well
Best: Winning an Aviation scholarship to the school of my dreams
Worst: the man who gave it to me died of covid.
graphic designer here. got laid off from a family business i busted my hump keeping afloat during the pandemic (and death of owner) in january. was heartbreaking but their loss.
used the opportunity to launch my etsy shop and will be setting up booths at local events. currently been using my time to making stickers, coloring books, etc.
Best: Going to Orlando
Worst: Getting COVID and realising that Kurt Cobain has been gone for 28 years
Why did you go to Orlando? Also it's good you recovered from Covid, Covid is aggressive to some people..
Best: Meeting my amazing BF in June, '21
Worst: Having to put down my soul dog in November '21 due to cancer
Losing a dog is hard. Ik from experience, I still miss her. But we will all have our difficulties. But you have a new relationship to create with your BF!
Well, I think that the best thing was... getting to have a really fun day with my best friend, and the worst thing is that my grandpa died. He was pretty young but had bad lung health..
The worst thing that has happened to me this year is my dad dying. My best thing is that a skull and nasal fracture that I had had for 2 years is finally getting fixed because I am now 16 and so there will be less risk to it affecting the growth and movement of my face.
I finally cleaned up my room.
And my mother nearly died, banging her head against the bathtub
Best: the noisy neighbor moved out of the apartment next door
Worst: i keep getting sick ( not covid, just the flu)
My worst thing is that my twin dogs (Jack & Victor), had to be put down on my birthday. The best thing that has happened is that my cats are finally getting after 5 years non stop fighting with. each other.
Ευχαριστώ Δία
Best: I finally was able to figure out that I have misophonia. My therapist finally was able to tell me what it was, so I can tell people why I have issues with certain noises, and I can tell them to talk to my therapist if they don't believe me. It's really been affecting my life and it feels so good to finally be able to explain it with a word.
Worst: trying to commit suicide and feeling tired and stressed all of the time.
Best: Taking a college course because I WANT to.
Worst: Had to put our beloved dog down.
Kiwi died of lung cancer and Flair was very sad about that and developed depression about her hubby's loss. She laid some eggs but they didn't hatch :'( One managed to survive but my brother-in-law's son destroyed it. I was beyond sad and just kicked them out of the house. But the best thing? I got a new pair of baby budgies and a pigeon! Flair started recovering pretty quickly after I got them. She also accepts Caramel (my pigeon) as a part of her family too! I am so happy for Flair! Flair, Snowball (6 weeks old, female budgie), and Banana (1-month-old, male budgie) have piggyback rides sometimes on top of Caramel UwU
Best thing: Jackson being confirmed to the Supreme Court.
Worst thing: Everywhere one looks, seeing the faces of Bobeck, Greene, Halsey, Cawthorne, Trump, Trump Jr., Ivanka and her husband; who, along with an unending list of others of their ilk, seem to be the turds that floated to the top as the Republicans 'drained the swamp' as they had promissed in 2016.
Best thing =new job paying 40% more than old job.
Worst thing = being in higher tax bracket
Had to add : forced to sell my home cause couldn't afford to keep it
Worst: Operation to remove a massive cyst that developed at an alarming rate (all gone now though just over a month on, but one heck of a scar)
Best: My wife and daughter, always the best thing about any year.
Worst: I've been stuck a lot and had COVID twice since January
Best: I cut my toxic parents and sibling out of my life
Getting diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer....
worst: had surgery to remove a giant lipoma that results in a frozen shoulder, still in post-op therapy after 3 months. best: I can take unlimited paid leave until full recovery.
Worst: Having 92-year old neighbor tell me about having sex in the backyard with his 65-year old girlfriend while we were both cleaning up the remains of the privacy fence that blew down in a storm.
Best: Getting the damned fence replaced so I can look out into my backyard without fear of possibly seeing them.
best: going back to in person school
worst: a good family friend dying of cancer
Well I make a school track team but I have to run almost every day in the hot sun
My sweet baby gecko passed away at 10 months old, i miss him every Day :( And i traveled to my countries capital to go on a Cruise ship with my SO for the first time :)
Best: finding a lot of books by my current favorite authors.
Worst: nearly drowning yesterday while snorkeling. Mask leaked while I was rather far out.
Yeah. I hate it but I love it.
