I hate it when parents count to give their child time to obey. It never works. The kid knows they don't have to come until the parent gets to three, or sometimes not at all.
I can see that maybe it was a good idea originally, but it never works. It always ends up being like, "Landon, get over here! Onnneee! Twoooo! Landon, Landon Landon! Landon, onnneee, twoooo, threeeee! That's it, you're grounded. Landon, are you even listening? Get over here. Onnneee..."

Depends on the kid. It worked for mine. But she wasn't really a bad kid. Energetic but not highly rambunctious. There were times I got to 3 and I served a punishment that fit the crime. It also gave me a chance to think of what would be the best way to teach her a lesson that will make her think about her behaviour.
