Everyone has a life hack they use every day (some without knowing it!) What is the most useful one you use each day?

My alarm clock is at the other side of my room, making me get up to turn it off. It makes getting up in the morning much easier.

This is more of a life hack for dogs... I always let my dog sniff as much as he wants on walks (within reason.) After all, it's his walk, not mine!

Differing opinion: There's a time and a place for letting dogs sniff as there's so much they can get into and can get sick from/get very intense about so I put sniffing on a command (technically two commands, one for targeted sniffing since I my dogs do jobs they need to sniff for) and one that is free sniffing... that way the moment i say "okay enough" they stop and come back to me... it let's me visually make sure there isn't something bad for them while still letting them sniff. Paired with a "leave it" command... it's all about letting your dog be a dog while still being safe.

When my small children would ask for things in stores, I would take a photo of them holding it so I could send it to Santa. Voilà! Visual Christmas list!

Don't put a clock in my room. I either end up staring at it freaking out because I can't sleep, or I go back to sleep

If someone catches you staring at them because you spaced out in your direction, quickly shift your gaze to something right beside them, they'll think you were looking at that.

I always avoid being picked to answer questions in class by pretending to write notes, searching for something in my bag, drinking water, etc

Wrapping hair ties around my watch band instead of my wrist so I always have extras, but I don’t cut off the circulation to my hand. And painting the nails on my dominant hand by holding the brush steady with my left hand and moving my right hand underneath the brush instead of moving the brush. This is because my left hand is very clumsy, so I rely on my right a lot. It actually works better to move my right hand instead of trying to paint with my left.

Not devoting an entire day cleaning the whole suite.

I used to do that and now I can't muster wasting a day to cleaning on a weekend. I've been breaking up the chores by doing bits of different areas throughout the week when I feel those areas need attention.
Like the bathroom. That gets cleaned more often than the living room. The linoleum floors need to be swept daily, especially in the foyer. The carpets need to be vacuumed a couple times a week during winter and every week during summer.
Dusting once a week in the summer and every couple weeks or so in the winter, as the windows remain shut.
Any other mess is cleaned up when needed. I have a pretty clean and tidy home. I enjoy organizing it and finding ways to utilize my small space so it's practical and neat.
