Mine was my mother’s birthday earlier this month which coincidentally was the day of her retirement, my brothers and I asked her so many personal and hilarious questions, made a cake for her, took pictures, drank and just had a lot of fun!
She was so happy she thanked us over and over and over with those smiles that said: “I’m proud of you all.”

I had two kittens born April 7. Mom is black; so are they. Mom doesn't go out. Where dad came from is a mystery: I have NO un-neutered males in the house! (Hes a long-haired black cat, who disappeared after the deed was done.) The kittens are (unofficially) Tweedledum and Tweedledumber, at least till they grow out of it. You can't be bored with them in the house!
Being able to split my teaching time and give my first grade students individual Zoom time. I was able to concentrate on their individual learning needs. The best part about our Zoom meetings were the things they chose to share with me during their time at home. One student’s parents ordered a trampoline and he was so excited to show me. Another found tadpoles and I got daily tadpole updates. Another started painting rocks with his sister and they both showed my their art work. There were so many little things they would share and all those little things made me feel even more connected to them than had we remained in the classroom.
The realization that our elderly dogs' quality of life is actually better since we are all working from home and their "treat frequency" is noticeably up. There IS a silver lining to this dark cloud!
The beginning of lockdown. Meaning the end of having to go out or make up some lame excuse to get out of some social thing or other. I'm bit of an introvert, I guess.
Saying goodbye to 8th grade. It's been a harsh year in school and I'm glad it's over.
But now that I've thought about it, the coming years will be harder....
i finished my album and am waiting until lockdown is over to go to a studio, record some demos, and look for a record deal!
My son finally realizing he is an alcoholic. He entered rehab on Father's Day. He dad just passed away on February 3, we were no longer together, but were still great friends and I truly loved him as a person. He passed of cirrhosis of the liver. He worried me about his drinking, and he finalized realized on his own. He is home now, and we are both completely dedicated to his recovery.
I had a student who lost his family, home and everything over drinking. he was in rehab and became abstinent for 12yrs and can never go to the pub or be around people that are drinking as he has just got back with his family and dont want to risk losing them again. Good luck to your son.
This ones going to seem childish but i never grew out of video games i got the tactical nuke 3 games in a row in modern warfare and i beat every game i own during quarantine
good for you :) I play clash of clans and im 49. my clan jokingly take the p**s but as long as you're happy, why not!
having an excuse to call my friends for hours at a time, finally decluttering my room, re-reading Harry Potter multiple times, finally getting to watch Harry Potter movies
My girlfriend and I live in different countries, and it's not always easy for us to see each other. She was staying at my place when the lockdown began. She got trapped with me. Instead of spending three weeks together, we ended up having a whole three months. We were so happy!
Aw - I like success stories like this. There are bound to be some which didn't work out so this is nice.
I have 3 best moments. One is doing my son a firetruck birthday cake that he absolutely LOVED. I went to an isolation retreat with a friend for a night and had an incredible time and lastly, I made my mum's birthday cake last weekend and made her such an amazing present. She told me in private that it is the best present she has ever, EVER received and it even made her cry. I was super happy with how it turned out.
Most nights, we now get to eat dinner with our 17yo daughter. She will hang with us for an hour or 2 after. Occasionally we even watch some TV. Nice to get to know the kid again. I feel like I had not seen her in 2 or 3 years.
happy reunions. when the lock down is over try and hide it from her as long as you can. 2-3 years would be good
being able to wake up at 9:30, wear PJs till noon, and eat a whole bucket of ice cream without being guilty
Quitting smoking. I had it really bad, was smoking a 20pack a day. Not a single drag for almost 3 months.
Perspective is interesting. You were smoking 20 a day and considered that really bad. My mother smoked 15 cigarettes a day and called herself a 'light' smoker. I'd go with your assessment to be honest. Really, really well done though. Meant to be one of the hardest things to give up. Be very proud of yourself.
I received a small birthday cake during COVID. It was a great surprise, no party we could not meet. Only phone greetings. But I appreciated that moment. So happy for you, it seems that birthdays have had a big impact on many people during these difficult moments.
I won a TON of great awards at 5th-grade graduation this year, and I got to see all of my teachers for the last time.
Nothing better than leaving a crappy teacher behind with a "So long, sucker!". And congrats on the awards. 100% attendance is not to be sniffed at.
Graduating 8th Grade i know its not a big thing but i have always wanted to go to highschool, and now i get too and even better its a boarding school(i have been exited to board since i am really exited for boarding in College)
I liked starting high school, too. I didn't think I'd get in, but my all-time favourite hero passed his Quirk onto me, and I was able to use it during the entrance exam. Busted my arm, and both legs, but I saved the cute girl, so it's all good.
My brother's birthday, my birthday, we're getting cats, isolation from people, more time to be online.
Oh and Percy Jackson series on Disney+. It better be more accurate than the movies.
My father and I are quarantined together, and we have competitions of who can wake up the earliest to go and get the mail. It's the most fun I've had in years, and getting to do something stupid like that with my dad are really the best moments in all of this mess❤️
I taught my dog a new trick all by myself! I’m a middle schooler so.. ya I’m good w pets and all 🥴
This isn't that exciting but...I binge-watched a lot of shows
Because of lockdown & not being able to visit, I get daily videos of my 5-month old niece, and she just started eating solids :-D
Being that dog parks were closed, a friend offered her back yard as a mini dog park. 4 of us all sit 6 feet apart and wear masks. The dogs LOVE IT because they know it's only their pack that will be there. They have such a great time it makes my heart happy. My dog is Zoe.
My work colleagues and managers were all working from home accept for me and another. I was jealous at first but after 2 weeks they were all going insane being locked up. Turned out to be a result after all. Rare i say this but thank you managers. There is some good in you after all!
Finding out that Disney+ is releasing Hamilton early! It was supposed to get released next year in October 2021 and they moved it to July 3, 2020!!! All because we are locked down and can't physically be there to see this amazing play. I was so happy when I heard that news!
Have much time to polish my skills in playing guitar and alcohol brewing
Thats good but dont polish your nails before playing the guitar. The strings will scratch em
Being part of a choir in times of Covid can be, well , can't be. So our maestro made us make videos of ourselves singing and he put everything together. It was an enormous job as we are all ignorant in such modern technologies. Our first video was for Easter and it made so many people happy! Now we have three more and getting practice all the time.
