Hey Pandas, I know that for most of us, life is like a roller coaster. I’m sure you’ve heard that before, right? There are bumps, twists, and turns. But when we get to the end of it, we realize that it was fun and exciting.
Recently, I was wondering what other people do to make themselves feel happier, so I decided to ask you, fellow Pandas, this question. So, Pandas, what do you do to make yourself feel happier?

Waste time on bored panda until I have a panic attack remembering I have stuff I have to do.
I listen to all my favorite music; I tend to find that music I know I already love and has given me plenty of joy in the past tends to work best in helping raise my spirits. I also watch a lot of comedy videos on YouTube, either stand-up comedy or British panel shows or just funny videos by my favorite YouTubers. I find that reaching out to my friends for support and conversations helps me find my missing serotonin.
I kind of have a library of ‘mood music’ - uplifting, joyful, angry, crying for beauty, crying for pain. It’s very cathartic.
I lay on my bed contemplating my life and realize that I'm still alive and not in extreme pain or poverty. That's good enough for me.
Listen to music. I helps me chill out and think about the lyrics and nothing else.
i came to this thread to post that exact answer lol. dont need to now :)
Read. My favorites are...
The Divergent Series
Harry Potter (duh)
Percy Jackson
Between Shades of Gray
The Hunger Games
Wolf Hollow
Twilight (Series)
Holes
Warcross/ Wildcard
And many more.
I love going for walks with my doggie :))
First I wait until a clear night when the moon is really bright. I'll have a nice quiet evening of reading or watching Doctor Who or just working on schoolwork while eating something yummy. Then when it's time for bed I'll turn off all the lights and go around the house while opening all the blinds and the whole house is filled with moonlight. It's so awesome and beautiful! Sometimes I'll go out in my yard and chat with my sister over a cup of tea with the whole world shrouded in moonlight. And the next morning I wake up to the sun shining in my room and the rest of the house! It's actually a great way to relax but it makes me really happy when the moon is so bright and it's like an entirely different world :) Another thing that makes me happy is a chilly winter morning when the carpet in my house is cold and I'm wrapped in a blanket and the sun is shining through the kitchen windows! I'm kinda weird but I love the world when it's like that #^^#
I write stories. Usually, they are short, funny stories where my friends and family are the characters. It helps me relax and use my creativity.
I do that too but usually end up deleting them because they're so cringey :)
watching anime and cuddling my dog at the same time with some yogurt
Cuddling with my pet chickens. They are very kind and comforting.
I love when pet owners describe their pets as ‘kind’. We know EXACTLY what we mean, and there isn’t a better word to find. Our animals give genuine, and specific, kindness.
I listen to music! It helps me calm down and when I do, I try to keep my focus on one instrument per song
Collecting Pokemon cards. I find Joy in looking at all my cards and buy more packs.
I would isolate myself and work on some art and listen to music until I felt better. I would also read mystery books and play video games with my friends. my favorite thing to do tho would be to sit and daydream. i would just sit and zone off for hours because i was in my own world. its nice and i like to be alone
I start dancing and really being myself and sometimes my dogs join in and we have a dance party. :)
READ. I LOVE READING. SO MUCH. In fact, they should invent a whole new word for how much I love to read! I REALLY, REALLY LOVE HARRY POTTER AND WINGS OF FIRE AND KEEPER OF THE LOST CITIES. As you can see, I am a nerd and proud of it.
I'm currently reading the Harley Merlin series. I highly recommend it, from one need to another |*
I put in my headphones, listen to my favorite music, and go on a long walk. Frequently. I'm racking up like 50 miles a week. I get to stay relaxed, AND in shape!
Running, walking pretty much any form of exercise or something to pump anger into helps because you stay healthy and it just helps
I sleep,Eat ramen,Talk to friends,Go outside,Have sleepovers
I love watching The Office or Parks and Rec with my wife.
For me personally it makes me do much happier when i'm going to school on the bus i listen to juice WRLD and once i'm at school my good friend (AKA my crush) hang out and him making me laugh makes me so much happier.
I read, write, look at memes, art, Hentai, Listed to P!ATD, FFDP, 21 Pilots, Lots of people, I really like to go for walks. Watch Anime, Play games, talk to my friends, go fishing, MANY THINGS
(p.s. I was Joking abt Hentai)
(pp.s. No I wasn't)
Cool! What do you write? (I write fanfictions that basically mangle the fourth wall beyond repair)
I go talk to my chickens, and bring my dog with me. Sometimes I go on a run
.. I know cliche, but its one of my favorite activities! And maybe eat... ya I love to eat
I watch TV, mostly cartoons because honestly, cartoons are for everyone. Also if its an especially bad day I get a good cry out. That ALWAYS helps. Anywho for all you sad muffins out there... You are worthy of happiness! You are loved! Don't be afraid of feeling a certain way! And lastly there is always someone willing to listen, even if it doesnt feel like it! Have a great rest of your day! And don't forget... Kindness is what keeps the world spinning! (I think I heard that in sunday school a really long time ago idk guys honestly)
This, this right here, this is what I needed to hear. Thank you MustardLemon. Xxx
Cry. Sometimes that's the only thing left to do.
Nothing makes me happier than reading today's headlines. Thank you to all the gods that this election is essentially over and goodness and decency has won the day.
I put on music through headphones. I listen to soooooo much music, and I love it. Sometimes I'll read or eat something, and it also is really great to text and talk to friends.
As someone on the Autism spectrum, STIMMING TO SOME MUSIC, BABYYYYYYY! My current hyperfixations music-wise are Starkid musicals and Vocaloid music, but I have a very flexible music taste so if any fellow people on the spectrum have some super good music to stim to any recommendations would be great!
Ooh, okay. I usually feel frustrated and upset when I'm practicing a hard piece on the cello.
Whenever I get upset, I stop practicing and watch TwoSetViolin on YouTube. I am a LingLing Wannabe (any TwoSetters out there?)
I'll also listen to Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto or Sibelius's Violin Concerto. One of my favorite pieces of classical music is Cantabile by Niccolo Paganini since it's a simple piece but there's a lot of emotion in it.
I write poetry! Some of my work is very dark and sad but it really helps to get those feelings out yk? I struggle with depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar, Asperger's, RLS, and more and sometimes all that stress really adds up. But poetry helps me calm myself down and helps me feel less alone :)
A fellow person on the Autism spectrum? And in the same area of it?! Hell yeah, Asperger's buddies! :D
I disappear- hole myself up somewhere for a while and think until someone finds me or I decide to move. It's surprisingly effective.
I like dark spaces for this. I used to have a huge wardrobe but then moved house, I now leave the toilet light off and sit on the loo lol
Usually I call my girlfriend or I draw or play with my cats
1. I listen to my favorite music, and just block out the world
2. Read, especially mysteries
3. Fold origami, usually for other people, as well as learn new and challenging models, then practice until I finally get it right
4. Talk to and play with my cat, Lola. She never fails to make me smile
A while ago I started to do chores when in a bad mood... my mood is bad anyway, I am occupied and afterwards I am happy it is done... I wouldn't hve thought it myself but works for me.
I have a toddler, so alone time is very soothing and special. Now I thrive when I get a little time to myself. But when time wasn't an issue, creating things with my hands was the best, like pottery, wood work, art,...
What makes me happy? That a Woman is Vice President. Elated actually.
Honestly, I read this email this teacher once sent me, like, 3 years ago. It was him talking about how amazing I was for this school project. My dad died when I was 10, and my mom doesn’t talk to me the way this email talks to me. It’s probably the best parenting I have since my dad died, and I read it once or twice a month. In case your wondering, here is the email. (We were doing a Supreme Court simulation, and I was pretending to be a lawyer in front of the Supreme Court)
“Hello! I just wanted to let you know that we did our Supreme Court simulation today. (My name)’s performance was the best I have seen in three years of doing this assessment. She made impressive constitutional arguments, cited legal precedents and was able to address every question from the court perfectly. Frankly, I was just stunned. I have never seen a middle school student perform so well in oral arguments. She was prepared, knowledgable and to the point. I am very proud of her and it just demonstrates the tremendous potential she has as a student.”
End the day with a cup of tea and a cookie. It's a small treat and it reminds me of my grandmother.
for some reason literally NOTHING is better than doing something you loved to do in the past. for example, 2 years ago I was obsessed with english breakfast tea, and whenever I'm feeling down I whip up a cup of that and all the great memories of drinking that tea flood back. it's really nice. (though I also love anime lol)
I usually lay flat on the floor, usually hard wood, and cry. If that’s not an option i cry and clean my room.
I sing in the shower in spanish and english :)
riding horses and eating
Listen to Hamilton, watch TV and float around the internet (mainly Bored Panda) somewhat aimlessly.
i hangout with my dog, chat with friends and sometimes feed my dog a little bit of vanilla icecream and peanutbutter. oh, and i read and listen to music.
mostly shinedown and billie eilish.
UK (perhaps) specific. Happiness is a hard one. If I need a ‘jolt’ I’ll watch Phil and Holly setting each other off. Genuinely contagious hilarity.
The vegetables one cracked me up the other day, I totally get this :)
Ride my bike and hopefully see my crush. Or just reading. :)
Play Among Us until I remember all the toxic people on there.
Hello please ignore this. I accidentally posted it lol
I hug and play with my dog. Instant happiness guaranteed. He's an instant stress buster as well.
Listen to my terrible playlist called "✨✌serotonin babey✨✌" and project onto fictional characters instead of addressing real-life issues. That normally works
1. Music: Taylor Swift is my absolute favourite, just listening to her voice alone makes me feel very happy.
2. Deep Breaths: These sort of health tips usually don't work for me, but lately, taking deep breaths has been helping me to stay calm, control my emotions, and help to lift that heavy weight on my chest.
3. Water: It helps me to distract myself from crying, plus I'm getting those hydration points 😎
4. BoredPanda: It's a no brainer. 😏
5. Additionally, I'll talk to my friends (either in real life, or in this online quiz site called Quotev) about anything, take a nap, sketch, watch YouTube videos, cook, or play a video game.
This is a very wonderful quiz, by the way — thank you so much. :)
I avoid the news. I'll read headlines and maybe pick a worthy article, but I don't 'listen' to the news, as a rule, at least not for the past several years. I draw and paint. I come to Bored Panda and hang out for a bit.
Me too. All of The Above. And 'The Office' I own Complete Series so click to fave eps.
I like to watch gacha life, I find the characters cute, I even watch the horror ones because why not? upvote if you love gacha life or gacha studio lol :)
Calling out all trolls. You are a special kind of sad to downvote someone's emotions & happy place. Shame on you.
When you are creating posts, there is a category thing (I don't know what to call it) on the right side of the screen and there are options to choose from, like pictures, DIY, animals, etc. Choose the one with Ask Pandas and there you go.
