Hey Pandas, What Are Your Tips On How To Counterattack A Strict Parent?
I’m guessing there are at least a few pandas on BP that just cannot catch a break with their parents. Some parents are strict but here’s some tips to avoid punishment or to make sure your parents aren’t crossing the lines.

Here’s mine: If your parents tell you to put your phone downstairs at night, make sure to shut it off. This preserves battery life and not only that, if you wake up and check you phone only to find that it’s on without going through the procedure to turn it back on (for apple users the apple symbol and the password check), then most likely someone has been on your phone while your asleep. Check text messages and social media to make sure that they haven’t tampered with anything and also check your screen time just to make sure when they were on.
I have tonsss. Like not showing emotion to not upset them. Or always having a perfectly tidy room. Or having a fake wall of books farther out on a shelf to hide things behind it. Or having at least one person on your phone to have fake convos with to seem like your friends are really innocent and chill.
My best piece of advice is: Take charge of you.
There is nothing that impresses parents like doing the mature thing before they remind you. Make your bed, hit your deadlines, be ready on time for school, arrange a way to get home by 10PM if your curfew is 10:30PM.
Bring your boyfriend home BEFORE your Dad demands to meet him.
Apologize when you mess up.
Be one step ahead. Cover all the bases first. Show them you've got it.
It'll take a some patience, but pretty soon they'll just grunt at you on your way out the door.
Maybe not for everyone, but my parents were strict because they thought I would hurt myself/ruin my life. Once I proved I wouldn't, they were very supportive.
Always have excuses for EVERYTHING. Use little things to your advantage, etc. Always have little white lies you can use to get out of trouble if you get into it. If it's something big though, tell the truth and be honest.
NEVER bookmark something you dont want them to see, example: this website. since i go on here a lot. all i do is type "Bo" in search and it finishes, I only bookmark school stuff and my school email, not my real one with my preferred name.
Try and start a dialog and discuss what's bothering you both in a mature manner. Understanding that they most likely are parenting out of fear and are worried you will get hurt. Maybe discuss that in order for you to grow you need to be able to make decisions and mistakes but you still want them there to catch you if you fall
My parents aren't super strict, but here goes
1: Don't get caught. Have an alibi, or pretend you were doing something "disappointing," but not worth punishment.
2: Be the "perfect" child. (this takes months, even years of work.) If you do get caught, you parents will be too confused and distraught to give you a punishment that really affects you.
Don't lie as a mum I know when my children are lieing, you can't hide your Internet from parents who grow up with it, just because I'm older than Google I'm better with a phone and computer than my children. We are only strict because we messed up as children and we don't want you to do the same things.
Most parents are only trying to protect you.
1) Sadly true, but learning how to flat out lie.
2) How to make certain screens look like other ones
My mom is pretty strict with my electronics, and I worry that she goes through my phone while I’m asleep. So naturally I copied down a complete set of notes for how to summon demons (complete with a list of different demons and the chants and evocation keys needed to summon them) in my notes app. Before I turn my phone off at night I go to that screen so it will be the first thing she sees if she opens my phone at night. She hasn’t found it yet, but it hopefully it will catch her off guard when she does. (She isn’t religious or anything so I don’t think she’ll punish me for having it on my phone. And if she does, I can summon a demon to fight her!)
