Just wondering, Please don't try to be "Woke"

I’ll speak on what I know which is American gun rights. What I know is that I have practice shooter drills in my high school. I know that me giving my mom a hug before I leave for school could very well be the last. I know that when my siblings walk into school I may never see them again. I know there are 19 students who are dead because an 18 year old got a gun. I remember Stoneman Douglas shooting (right near where I live). Whenever I see someone with a gun I panic. I know there are responsible gun owners, yet I also know the risks of owning such a weapon can have horrible consequences. This is my views on gun rights. We need more gun control so I don’t need to be scared. So every kid in America doesn’t need to be scared.

I'd say that guns are just a thing like everything else and that they should be regulated even though THEY ARE ALREADY REGULATED IN AMERICA. YOU CANT BUY ONE IF YOUR A FELON NO MATTER WHAT STATE WHY DO PEOPLE NOT GETTT ITTTTT.

They should be regulated a lot more than they are. The only guns that should be legal are the ones that can only be used for hunting or shooting ranges, and assault rifles should be banned completely. You should not be able to purchase a gun until you are 25, and you should have no record of any sort of violence. You should go through a gun safety course and have yearly gun check ups, like a car. Records should be kept of who bought a firearm, and when and where. Your guns should be able to be confiscated if you commit any sort of violent crime.

I believe my country (Australia) does a pretty good job at limiting who can get a gun and how. I would love for these regulations to be tightened more, because I don't believe we need to have hunters or recreational shooters. I know that is an unpopular opinion, especially where I have just moved to, in a more regional area but it is still my opinion. We still have more gunshot victims than I would like, but at least they are less likely to be caused by accidents or mass shooters/terrorists than in other places. I am glad that police can spend more time thinking before they shoot, because they don't have to assume every person they encounter has a high likelihood of having a weapon.
