French films can be as good or bad as films from anywhere else, and be liked or disliked for various reasons just like any other. So, what are your favorite French films?

For French cinema the first decade of this century was awesome:

Ao: The Last Hunter (Ao, le dernier Néandertal), 2010
A prehistoric film without real dialog (though with narration) and great visuals.

The Transporter (Le transporteur), 2002
Yep, it´s French and the first one is fantastic unlike its sequels.

Brotherhood of the Wolf (Le pacte des loups), 2001
A semi-historical martial arts / action film inspired by the Beast of Gévaudan.

Wasabi, 2001
A hilarious French-Japanese action comedy starring Jean Reno.

The Crimson Rivers (Les rivières pourpres), 2000
Speaking of Jean Reno, here a pretty nice uncomfortable crime thriller with him.

The City of Lost Children, 1995.

Absolutely bizarre, surreal, hilarious and touching. Physical comedy at it's best. The horror of childhood. And not one single sex scene.
