The whole pandemic was mismanaged by the governments. I just have this feeling, but I can't reasonably prove it.
It's very obvious. The proof is in the former president telling people to drink bleach.
I feel like proof is available by looking at other governments' handling and their success rates.
Watching YouTube videos and sharing Facebook posts isn't "digging deeper" btw
Load More Replies...I think that Trump is irrelevant, but with so many Democrats still filling social media with his name, it is impossible to prove.
It has certainly been poorly managed by some governments, but not all, and it's quite easily proven since many of the worst culprits are still doing the same thing.
I think that Trump is mentally handicapped but I’m not a doctor.
This is a little offensive. I have mentally handicapped family and I don't really like how you're just using it as an insult. I get that it's just a way of calling him stupid and it's funny and all, but it's not that funny to me.
I think he has some sort of instinctive rhetoric genius. I watched in disbelief and horror how craftily he and his staff paired words so carefully and menacingly that they are now linked. Fake news. Alternative facts. The way in which they’d so brazenly lie. Absolutely breathtaking. The way that everybody knew he was in it for the money and still he wouldn’t ever feel shame, or remorse, or anything humanly feasible.
He didn't coin either the term "fake news", nor "alternative facts". One of the very few things he has managed to learn is that if you consistently repeat anything enough times, then unintelligent and ill-informed people will latch onto it and believe it.
Load More Replies...Somethings wrong with the man. He seems to have a little bit of a hitler mentality.
I think that bragging about passing a test designed to diagnose either concussions or dementia is quite solid proof that the man (if we can even call him that) has some form of mental handicap. Maybe he has only ever had 20 or so brain cells and when he looked at the not yet eclipsed sun without any eye protection it killed 18 of those cells, and since then the last two are only able to connect on a full moon between 11 and 11:02 pm but only if it's a tuesday and they're serving French fries in the cafeteria
There are some people in a room somewhere making up conspiracy theories. "They'll never believe this one! 5g in the vaccines, they couldn't possibly...." "Oh, no way, they believed it!!" And laughing their heads off every time.
well....the story about eating 8 spiders in your sleep is made up...they wanted to know how fast and far stories would travel over the internet... ;-)
that pineapple on pizza isn't the worst combo in the world.
Durian on pizza is the WORST, hands down. Lived in China for many years and all the pizza places have it like Pizza Hut etc. People actually order it.
A buddy of mine had bad digestion issues, but he didn't have them if he had pineapple on pizza. There's some enzyme in it (the same one that prevents jello from setting properly if you use it), apparently it can help with digestion in some folks.
I don't like pineapple on pizza but if it has pineapple...I'll eat it...or I'll pick it out and eat it separately. I just don't fancy the sweet and savory combo.
That "Flat Earth" believers are just saying it for attention.
Of course they are. The whole flat earth thing only started with the arrival of YouTube and social media. Like most conspiracy theories, people latch on to it to feel like they're part of something. It makes them feel special for "knowing the truth" 🙄
The Flat Earth Society was founded in the 1950s by a guy called Samuel Shenton & when Shenton died a friend of his, Charles Johnson, became President of this society. He became famous/infamous/notorious for insisting scientists were lying about Earth being round and the press picked up the story. Membership of the group grew to about 3500 at its peak, Johnson died around 2000 / 2001. There is a spoof Facebook account called the Cambridge Flat Earth Society, they basically make fun of flat Earthers.

But I have taken apart a couple dryers before and found the little hidey hole that the socks get stuck in.
I'm absolutely convinced that there is some compartment in the washing machine where a bunch of socks get sucked into and go missing forever. It's the only explanation!
Cosmetic or skincare industry does not care about costumers' health, they prey on our insecurities. There's no product that makes you Fairer, Clearer, Smarter, Slimmer, it's all gimmick
Does the industry think we are stupid or are they right and we actually are stupid enough to buy their sh!t?
This is a fact. Nobody needs any of those products and they make your skin become dependant on them so you're trapped in the cycle of buying them.
You don't actually have to be an asshole to succeed in life
We have to think about what you mean by 'succeed'. It means different things for different people. to me, to succeed means to be happy with what goes on in your life and if you can contribute to society in a meaningful way, i.e. ethically and selflessly.

That humans are actually better than most believe. That we will continue the quest upward and onward; with occasional mis-steps That our future is open-ended. That god does not exist. There is life across the universe. That I exist. That you exist.

I have empirical proof that I exist, but anything else beyond that could just be the product of an addled mind.
Mattress stores are usually fronts for money laundering. In my town you can’t drive five minutes without passing a mattress store, furniture store that sells mattresses, or department store that sells mattresses. Not to mention all the online sellers. They’re always empty and almost as common as Starbucks.
My husband and I have discussed this many times. Just a few days ago, we went for ice cream. It's right next to a mattress store. We've been many times, and the mattress store has never, ever had even one customer. We've never seen a single customer in any of the many, many mattress stores around town, and often wonder why. Just the one employee at a desk in a back corner, most likely bored to tears.
I mean, people need mattresses and need to replace mattresses. They likely sell out quickly.
How often do you change your mattress? I know we 'should' change it every few years also, but it's likely that I will die in mine. As long as it's still working, I have a lot more other things to worry about
Load More Replies...That crime/addiction/death and suffering are all linked to a government that would rather put money in the pockets of rich people than to take care of their citizens. If the pandemic taught us anything here in America is that, giving just a little extra cash to needy families actually pulls people out of poverty and helps them to get rid of debts. Providing people with a supplement to a living wage, providing free healthcare and free educations can only help us, not hurt us. So why is it that monetary greed wins out over taking care of your follow man? This is not rocket science, but the powers that be seem too inept to make it happen.
I may be cynical but I strongly suspect that those in power are benefiting from the system and that's why they won't close it down. If you had a cash cow, you wouldn't give it to the poor so they might eat, you would keep it for yourself to make you richer. I believe that's what is going on globally.
That extraterrestrial aliens exist. And that we will discover proof of them when one of our deep space probes finds a space buoy just outside of our solar system that reads "Avoid 3rd planet, full of assholes".
This reminds me of a comedian who said something about Earth being the Alabama of the universe.
They are sure to exist, whether they are single cell organisms or advanced creatures, but we are unlikely to ever find proof of them because of the vastness of space. It would take so many hundreds or thousands of years to reach another solar system and the accuracy needed is so unbelievably precise, the chance of reaching one of their planets is less than 1 in a trillion trillion trillion.

I wanna show my parents that Im not trying to be disrespectful or to disappoint them and argue to them , Im just showing my pov.... But idk how to prove that.... Any ideas ? :(
You're bound to get some good advice but here's a hard truth: your parents might not be able to accept that you are being respectful, that you're listening, and that you still disagree with them. Parents are still just people and some people cannot accept being wrong. And once those kind of people have a form of authority over other people, they get aggressive when questioned. It hurts and it's hard to live with, but it gets better when you're an adult. At that point, the hardest part is learning to stand your ground.
Listen to them first. Find out what their pov is and where they came up with it.....by asking questions and being genuinely interested. THEN afterwards calmly say something like, "what do you think about xyz?" Or "I can understand what you mean. And sometimes x happens too." Introduce your ideas into the conversation slowly, over the long term. If you want to be heard, you need to show that you have been listening. If you want to be respected you need to SHOW respect for them first.
Best advice I can give is to approach each problem or disagreement without yelling or name calling. I'm not saying you have to cave in to what they believe. And tell them like you told us.."This is just my pov." If you let them know they have a right to their opinion and you have a right to yours, you may get farther. And don't try to argue them into accepting something. Some people will believe what they want to believe no matter how much arguing you do with them. Best way to diffuse and argument too is to ask them why they feel the way they do and listen intently. You may find out that the argument is due to miscommunication or assumptions.
Write it or record it and give it to them and for backup find an easy reference for example find a song or video or make one.
I live In India , And parents here are super strict. Mine wont let me wear crop tops and shorts , Or even short jeans. If I showed them something like a video , They would laugh at me and tell me to study :(
Load More Replies...You will never be able to if they have no respect for you. And, unfortunately, a lot of parents are narcissists and will never treat their child with even the slightest shred of respect. They don't care about your POV. It's a lost battle.
Maybe not you, but a lot depends on tone of voice and allowing yourself to hear their counterpoints. Are you wanting to be respectfully heard? Do you listen to them with the same respect you'd like? I just remember my mom saying when I was young " it's not what you said, it's how you said it". Sometimes we need to check ourselves :) all the best to you.
That colleges just keep adding useless classes just to justify why you have to pay so much
My college had me take Engineering Economics, to figure out the cost to a company if they lease a machine for 10 years vs buying it outright in the beginning, for a Computer Science degree. I have never once needed a single bit of information from that class, but when it was introduced to us, they pushed it like I would use it every day.
I suspect that dark matter and energy are an illusion caused by the dilation of spacetime from supermassive objects like young stars and black holes, as well as from galaxies themselves. Of course, without the ability to travel meaningfully closer to any of those supermassive objects, I can't exactly test that hypothesis...
Isn't dark matter/ dark energy just a placeholder term to make our math work? For context and as I understand it, our current mathematical models of the universe are really accurate IF you throw in that there is x% dark matter and x% dark energy. In that case, I just figure that it's something we haven't learned how to detect yet.
Simple version: mass creates gravity, gravity messes with time. Since everything we measure has to be somehow tied to mass or time, it means that it's very difficult (if not impossible) to get accurate numbers when something is really, really big. Especially when we have no proof of how mass and gravity scale past the largest source of mass that we can "easily" study, the sun.
Load More Replies...I was thinking along similar lines but your use of 'dilation' confused me. I tend toward "frame dragging" as this would cause matter to clump into arms like we see in galaxies, with the space-time fabric distortion allowing objects to circle the galaxy faster than would be possible in the standard model.
I think someone misplaced a decimal or that physicists need to review some of the basic assumptions (mostly the "standard candle" that was used early on)

Load More Replies...A bit random, but here goes. I have a strong suspicion that many prehistoric artefacts in Ulster Museum (Northern Ireland) are fake. I studied some for my Masters and noticed that a lot of artefacts in a very narrow band of styles were 'discovered' in a really small time frame in the 1890s. It is documented that there were forgers selling stone artefacts to tourists in that period. I think a local forger was selling them to the museum as well.
That's interesting. Did you speak about this to your director? Or someone from the museum? I'm sorry if I don't use the right terms, english is not not my first language. When you say artefacts you mean flint tools? Did you find any resembling artefacts elsewhere? I work in a museum and I find this interesting, if someone suspected that some exposed piece is a fake I would like to know, speak about it and maybe start new research to be sure.
No I didn't tell anyone, I have nothing to back up the suspicion. I don't have the skills of a historian to find out about the museum and how it collected artefacts in the 1890s. It was polished stone tools - Neolithic axes and bronze age wrist guards, all allegedly from County Antrim.

You should keep a dream journal and record things. then when it happens, you can show people you wrote it down in the past. Even if it doesn't dream journals are so neat. It's amazing what you can decipher or unravel.
This has happened to me on a couple of occasions, but not exactly the same as it was in the dream. Example, in fourth and fifth I was in folk dancing club, and one night in fourth I had a dream that these two boys joined folk dancing. Next practice boy 1 joined. Next year boy 2 joined.
I remember a Doraemon episode in which they were talking about this. Apparently, it is called "Prophetic Dreams". Last year, I dreamt that my mother woke me up to tell me that a tuition class I had the next day had been cancelled. I woke up and was going to the washroom, when my mother told me the same thing. Well, my teacher had informed us last week, but I had forgotten to tell my parents. But, the fact that I saw my mother in my dream telling me about it is still true
I've had this experience many times. My current boyfriend thinks it's "hokum" but my ex husband can confirm one of the more strange dreams that did come to pass. Not "hokum".
Ben Shapiro is homophobic.

I think my sister is autistic, but I’m not a doctor. So yee
You probably mean well by suggesting this. The fact is, there is an autism spectrum. In addition, there are other conditions like Aspergers syndrome. Or she simply may have a learning disability. Since you don't say why you think this , or how old she is, there is not much to go on. The best thing you can do for her is to mention your concern to your parents. If this is not possible, then you could speak with an adult at school like a teacher, nurse, or guidance counselor.
Asperger's syndrome is now included in the autism spectrum (it is considered high functioning). I absolutely second your suggestion of speaking to a guidance counselor, or if I may add my own (to OP), try finding some information on your own and leave it where your parents may find it. It's hard to hear something like that, even if you already suspect, but reading about it makes things click.
Load More Replies...Asperger's girl here. If you believe your sister may be autistic, please mention it to your parents or someone who will take the thought seriously. If it does seem likely, I would recommend finding someone who specializes in Autism that could diagnose her, if she is on the spectrum. I was ashamed to be on the spectrum at first due to stigma, but autistic does not mean any less smart like some (and I had used to) assume. It is different brain wiring. I still have not completely come to peace with the Asperger's/spectrum label... but none the less it has been so helpful in relating to others, finding people who experienced the same challenges as me, and getting help in navigating them. It turns out the vast majority of the autistic and autistic ally is so sweet, warm, thoughtful, and welcoming! All the best for you and your sister. My life and challenges have become so much better since finding help from other autistic specialists and getting other related help.
The fact that you aren't a doctor makes you more qualified to say if your sister is autistic or not. Trust me as an autistic female the amount of doctors trying to tell me I don't have it simply because I am female is comical! Also if you believe she could have it try to have her diagnosed by an autism specialist (preferably female) because I was suicidal before getting diagnosed because no one believed me and I thought I was so different without an explanation
I work with people with disabilities, and two of my residents got, after decades, finally diagnosed with Autism. Most of us nurses thought they're on the spectrum, but the neurologists and psychiatrists before never considered this. Until recently when they both got each a new doc (different doctors!).
My daughter has been diagnosed with an intellectual disability, with some traits of Autism but that was ruled out a couple times. I'm still convinced she's got a spectrum the docs haven't been able to pinpoint.

I read this thing once about how this guy did the math and found that it is statistically impossible for life to have formed on this planet in this solar system without some greater power and I thought it was pretty interesting.
All the planets around the sun are being slowly pulled towards the sun by it's gravitation pull. Mercury's gonna be sucked in and eaten by the sun making Venus the next Mercury, and Earth the next Venus, and Mars the next Earth. Wait and see!
If that can happen, wouldn't the Earth be pulling the moon closer towards itself?
Nah, the gravitational pull isn't strong enough. the sun is massive.
