Sometimes life can get funky and you go through odd and embarrassing moments...

#1

When I was in Primary 3, a teacher made me stand in front of the class to read from the textbook. I was a terribly shy kid and she was known to be a really fierce teacher, so I was freaking out and my voice just wouldn't come out as loudly as I wished. The teacher start yelling at me to SPEAK UP! But I just couldn't, I was so scared.

That's when the smallest sized kid in class stood up and said, "That's just their voice, they speak really softly all the time." And the teacher backed off. I will never forget that moment as long as I live and am forever grateful, Helen Marie.

Way back in fourth grade or something, I was on medication for stuff that I can't really remember at the moment, but one of the side effects was it stimulated my bowels, and, well, let's just say one day at recess I farted too hard.
(Luckily, a teacher let me inside and two other students were kind enough to run to the office and get me a new pair of pants. Lol not one of my best moments, but I will forever be thankful to those students.)

In second grade my teacher scared me so much that I was afraid to ask her anything, including to use the bathroom. So one day I really needed to go but never had the courage to ask... So I ended up peeing my pants... Right in front of my crush...

Okay. *cracks knuckles* Time for me to vent. All of these are very simplified.

1. First grade, maybe. I had a brief issue with one of the boys in my class and offered to kiss and make up. Cue laughter.
2. Third grade. I misunderstood what one of the boys meant by something and accidentally contradicted myself on which sports team was better. Cue laughter.
3. Fourth grade. I was written up because I was holding a paper too tightly. I was made to write an essay on what happened and was yelled at for the resulting defiant-angry-child written thing. Cue shame ever since.
4. Seventh grade. All the many times I cried in three first month and a half. Cue shame ever since.
5. Third grade. I accidentally called my teacher mom and let's just say I remember her exact tone of voice. Cue shame ever since.
6. Second grade. My entire reaction to finding out my family was moving to another state. Cue cringe ever since.
7. Ninth grade. All the many times I lost a particular game. There was an actually competent guy and a guy who copied his answers. They are both awful. Cue low self-esteem ever since.
8. That one time in preschool when I forgot my name. Cue how-the-f*ck-did-that-happen.
9. When I refused to change desks in fifth grade because I liked the way the seating had been and didn't want it to change. Cue being yelled at.

I have more. These were just a few things that happened.

I was back home in Sendai and some friends and I had gone horseback riding, (i was 8 year old) and my friends left me behind when we were done riding the trail. I am short and I have some coordination issues and i could not get off the horse myself, but my friends had already gone inside the barn again. The horse i was on proceeded to take me with it into the stables with all the other horses. I was stuck on its back for about a 30 minutes until someone noticed I was missing. I was extremely humiliated when the staffers had to come rescue me …

I went to visit my grandmother to pick up a recipe book and took my new boyfriend to meet her. Before visiting I called my grandmother who said to be quick because her friend was coming over so didn’t want me to take too long as they had plans.

We drove up to the house which was a row of 3 blocks of apartments. I rang the bell and announced who it was and proceeded to let myself in the apartment. An unfamiliar voice came from the kitchen offering me a cup of tea. I said ok we’d have a quick cuppa before we went. I assumed this was my grandmothers friend and my grandmother was in the bathroom or wherever.

Looking round the room I notice the furniture was noticeably different and the pictures on the wall were people I did not recognise. (I was super exhausted at the time as I had a toddler and was working full time so it took a while to sink in).

A cup of tea sat in front of me with a plate of biscuits and it completely dawned on me, this was not my grandma and this was NOT her house. I tried mouthing to my bf that we were on the wrong house and he was fuming with me! I thanked the stranger for the cup of tea and said we had to be on our way.

We laughed for about 15 minutes and got a good telling off from my grandmother for taking so long.

PE at secondary school. I used to do a lot of sports at school and when I was 16 I was doing sports almost every day. Being a hormonal bisexual teen boy having to share a shower and changing room with other fit and sporty, hormonal teen boys was frequently excruciatingly awkward and embarrassing.

Three days ago, I bent over and split the seat out of my favorite pair of jeans. I mean, from tailbone, down the rear seam, to the crotch, and down to upper inner thigh. Removed hoodie, tied it around my waist, and finished my shift. No, I'm not that dedicated; I was just too mortified to tell my boss why I needed to leave early. I wanted to crawl under a rock and die of shame.
