I grew up on Disney, Nickelodeon, and PBS. Now, there are tons of things that I’ve learned because of the various shows I've seen on these particular channels.

For example, here's a random fact: Did you know that pineapples can float? I learned that in first grade from a show called Fetch: with Ruff Ruffman! I also make spaghetti tacos on a monthly basis because of iCarly!

Therefore, I'd like to ask you Pandas to share your experiences when it comes to our favorite childhood TV shows.

I learned that if you run off a cliff, you will keep running in midair if you don't realize you're running off it.

A lot! In France we had a TV cartoon show called Voici la vie (Here's life). This amazing cartoon explained very easily how the body works. So I know how a vaccine works, how a teeth infection can bring you to death in some case.... Best.TV..Show.Ever....

I wasn't a child when it started but Mythbusters taught me a lot. Like how to escape a sinking car, what terminal velocity and that you might be able to fly to space on a big water heater. I am an engineer today because of the show.

I disagree with what you just typed. When i was 12 my mother would have probably disowned me if a i got a boyfriend. That could just be my mom

i learned how to act and copy movement from MHA. i know it sounds weird but if I like a scene from the show I will watch it over and over till I memorized it and then I will copy the movement and the words that are being said. I now cosplay and I love to act. I can even make myself cry on command now. sometimes my friends ask me to just act like a certain character and I will just change my mood and actions to match the character. I can do Deku and Bakugon pretty well.

I interpreted this to mean shows you watched in childhood, not necessarily children's shows. That being said, I learned from Marcus Welby, M.D. (about a kindly old doctor) that if you were bleeding internally then your stomach/abdomen would be rigid like a board. Later, when I was 19 and married, I had an ectopic pregnancy that ruptured. It didn't hurt too much at first but when I realized my abdomen was literally hard as a board, I went to the emergency room. Marcus Welby, M.D. saved my life.

Not sure it counts as it wasn't a children's show and I was 17 at the time, but I saw a documentary on the (then) new theory of birds having evolved from dinosaurs. I decided I wanted to be a palaeontologist, and about 5 years later I had a degree in Palaeontology. I then moved on to other things, though. Sometimes I regret it, especially not going into Paleoart. But then again, I could paint dinosaurs all day if I wanted and I don't, so...

I learned alot about femininity and masculinity, feelings, LGBTQ+, friendship and love from steven universe. That show prompted me to ask questions that give me a full understanding of it now. It even taught me to accept myself. I watched steven universe when it first came out and honestly I was very scared of all of those things before I watched it. So, it REALLY helped me become who I am today. Another show is Adventure Time. I just loved that one lol.
