How do you all develop the music you listen to?
I have a massive playlist, thirteen and a half hours long with no repeats, and I add songs simply based on if I like how they sound.

So, here's an incomplete list of my music sources: My dad's music, my mom's music, songs I hear on the radio, songs that play on iheartradio, movie soundtracks (both the actual soundtrack music and songs featured), one song is from my cousin's playlist, the artist did the soundtrack for a podcast I listened to, and then I listened to more of his music from there, I had seen a few memes about the artist, and then when I heard one of his songs, I decided that it was good, and then listened to more from there, also a few songs I liked the artist and thought the title was amusing, the night vale weather, 5(?) members of the band played roles in a podcast I liked, and I liked their music, and finally, pieces I played in orchestra.

i don’t know why, but i really relate the the song “My Ordinary Life”. especially the line “when you become untouchable you’re unable to touch.” i think we all see ourselves in songs. it’s comforting in a way.

To preface, I am not a swiftie. I am not obsessed with Taylor swift. In general, I don't listen to her a lot. I usually listen to 60s-2000s pop or jazz, with a bit of cavetown (it's required because I'm transmasc). Sometimes I do have phases of listening to Taylor swift and Britney spears and this does not make me a swiftie. Anyways, lately I've been really liking style, I know places, and how you get the girl. 1989 is definitely my favourite TS album, but I only recently discovered that these songs exist and idk how I missed them earlier. I really have no clue why I like her music so much right now, ig it just has the positive summery vibes that really match me. I like it. Again, this doesn't make me a swiftie, my favourite song is everybody talks, with guilty as a runner up. Notice that neither of these are Taylor swift songs.

To those of you who listen to Taylor swift, what's ur favourite album? They're all super different so it's interesting to me to know

Ok, maybe I'll use this as a chance to exorcise something from my head and talk about the song that broke me.....
I generally gravitate towards the darker areas of music ( duh!) but lately, I have become pretty obsessed a style of music termed as Darkgaze.... This stuff is dark.... Musically minimalist, emotional, downright doomy.... I do love it, but not healthy for someone with mental issues!
Well, found this band " trees of eternity", total doom but the vocalist, Aleah, an incredible writer and singer, just really touched me.... So vulnerable, particularly in the song " a million tears".....So, downloaded a heap of her other work, all marvelous and then thought I'd learn a bit more about her.....
Then I found out when she recorded "Trees of Eternity", she had cancer and passed away from it before the album was ever released......
I put "A million tears " on repeat and cried for about half an hour.... Still can't get that song out of my head.....
So yeah, no more doomy music for me for a while!!! Lol...
( bit of context, got cancer myself, only had the non fatal diagnosis recently, so all a bit close to home....)
P.s. if interested, try "touch my face" by That Which Remains....
And remember Aleah's beautiful , vulnerable voice....... It's all that remains of her..... So sad....

The song I most relate to is Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit. The song itself sounds cringy, but I loveeeee to the lyrics. It makes me happy someone else like beating bad people up! 🙂
