OP here: She's not "playing in the water," because she was unable to due to her arthritis. That's why I took her TO the water, so that at least, she could enjoy it. And she did.

I have had two cats who did this too. One of them actually asked for baths sometimes. I don't think he enjoyed the bath as such, but he did enjoy being clean afterwards.
