I know my maternal and paternal grandfathers were on the same trip to Antarctica, when my parents were both pre ten. This wasn't how my parents met though, just a coincidence! I remember using grandads slides of antartica for a school project, how I wish I could see them again, or had any older photos of my grandparents! I do have a painting my gran did of grandad in antartica though, and my mum has amongst other things my other grandad special ice axe/pick/stepcutter thing. I just think it's amazing my grandparents met way before my folks met, seperately
Loved looking at everyone's photos. All of my grandparents were already dead by the time I was born. Makes me sad to think of all I missed. My husband had the opposite situation,, his parents bought a two family house so their mothers (both widowed) could live with them so he had his grandmas around his entire life. Some amazing pictures here, so much history, thanks for sharing.
