Thank you. I use a special silhouette paper. There are two kinds one that has a white backside and one that is black on both sides. I prefer the later. You draw your design either on the backside or a separate piece of paper and clip it on with paper clips.I only use a craft scalpel for cutting out everything. Both scissors and scalpel become dull very fast when working on paper, which leads to teared paper. You probably need between 10 and 25 blades per artwork. Start with the small details and cut the big pieces out later. It’s also a lot easier to work on a bigger piece of paper than a small one, so I would recommend to start with DIN A3 paper instead of DIN A4. You should also make enough breaks. It takes me several days to complete a piece, but I usually don’t cut more than an hour every day.

We are fossil collectors and have some really cool ones. Some as old as 450 million years old (Orthoceras) and some that are really cool. Our favorite are our Carcharidon Megalodon teeth from South Carolina. The Cooper River is loaded with them on the bottom. You have to do "blind" diving because of the murkiness of the water. You pick up soil from the bottom and you feel the teeth in your fingers. These are about 60 million years old. As you can see in the photo, the serrated edges are still VERY sharp! I inherited a painting 1857. It was very dark from cigarettes, etc. I went to an art supply store at Massachusetts College of Art, bought a product for cleaning it. When I took it to Antiques Roadshow the expert said it was an excellent job (you could see the difference when the frame was removed).

How do we know this isn't a reproduction? The color of the purple looks too modern for an 1800's dress. Also the lace is not yellowed or aged. Doesn't seem authentic to me.

2 years ago Created by potrace 1.15, written by Peter Selinger 2001-2017

Because it's a family heirloom. The lace has been treated. The dress is original

The oldest one is this porcelain thingy. I was told it have some king's seal on it. It have a barely visible date stamped in it too, looks like 1845. It is clean, but porcelain acquired some dark spots under the glaze. The newest is a pen.

You and me both! She died shortly before I was born. That's her maiden and married name, and her nickname that she went by. I don't know what function she wore the name tag to, nor why she decided to stick it onto furniture! From what I've heard she was pretty uptight, which only fascinates me more.

From my previous post. Assuming Peter Wedel is the father of Dorothy, who married Lou Campbell. I searched for a bit years ago to find any more information or living relatives (maybe a decade) to no avail, and then ended up putting these in the safe and forgot about them until seeing this post. Maybe some free time and I will search again. Or if any Pandas want to look, maybe you can find some clues. This is all that I found in that desk, other than a small slip of paper from Rosalie, stating that Dortha and Lou wed on Christmas day 1918.

On our small ranch in Santa Fe County we find marine fossils all the time, even though we live on a mountain side. My hubby used to work for a high-end company that did all the security in the many museums in Santa Fe. One of them was preparing for an exhibition of the belongings of Czar Nicholas and family. He said the vibes of the objects were so tragic. From the kid's toys, to paintings and books.
