Made this to celebrate the 11th year of my mom being free from my dad. I'm not the best at frosting and decorating cakes, but it tasted good. I think the original cake recipe called for 9 inch pans, but I used 8 inch, not realizing. Oh well, you live, you learn

I once tried to make a fruit cake. It said to add the whisked eggs while the mixture was warm. It was too hot, the eggs scrambled and then the whole thing turned to toffee. Didn't bake another cake for 30 years.

Just a few days ago I made my first ever loaf of banana bread. I followed the instructions to the letter, but it came out dense and gummy. The trash can smells delicious right now though 🤣

Probably overmixed. Quick breads like banana bread need to be barely mixed together like pancake batter.
