Just share a bit of what you’re working on.

Not much currently, mainly just writing poems that are a little bit cryptic. I generally aren't a big fan of writing poems, but I'm doing it for a Minecraft realm I'm on, so it's quite fun

I’m making a comic series about a teenager whose OCs realise that they’re the OCs of that kid and they realise that their creator is the reason all bad things happen to them so they vow to kill their creator

Ooo, that’s an interesting concept! Idk how my oc’s would feel like if they met me. I did give them a considerable amount of angst, but I’m also giving them a happy ending…it also reminds me of how some people feel about religion. Like the mindset of, “if there’s a god, why do bad things happen to good people?”

It's a fantasy book that's set 6.5 billion years in the future where animals rule the Earth because humans were wiped out in a meteor shower 6.5 billion years ago.

That’s a fun idea! When I’m writing with animal main characters, I like to experiment with the imagery a bit. For example, dogs are colorblind and often nearsighted but their sense of smell is way better than a human’s, so when I write from a dog’s perspective, I focus less on color and sight descriptions and more on scent descriptions. Or cats can’t taste sweet things, so I make sure to not describe foods as sweet when I’m writing a cat. Just thought I’d share that cuz it’s fun to play around with :D

I’m writing three. The first one I want to learn to draw because it would be better as a comic but basically mythical creatures make up most of the population. Sea elves are oppressed and there is one last sea elf who goes on a mission with her best friend and a dragon who will become her girlfriend to go fight for her freedom from the unicorn king.
The second one takes place in the same universe as the first. This one there is a half-demon half-angel who got attacked by a werewolf and trying to cope with the trauma but is struggling. His phoenix friend is there to help him and he eventually saves his life after he tries to end it. This one is also gay.
And the third book is about a transgender band kid and a closeted gay swimmer. The band kid has an oboe solo in the marching show and is the best oboist in the school and self harms while the swimmer is the best swimmer in the school and also self harms. They don’t like each other very much in the beginning but as they are forced to hang out they grow closer and closer.
I have some more book/story ideas I just haven’t started writing them.

Fun! I love writing fantasy gay romance. Comics are a great way to practice drawing, because you get to draw the same characters over and over without getting bored because you’re also telling a story. If you’re having a hard time finding somewhere to start, I’d recommend picking a graphic novel or artist you like, copying down some of their characters, and then once you have a feel for the style, trying to draw your characters in that style. You can also grab elements from other art styles you like and incorporate them until you develop your own art style :D Writing a couple practice pages of your comic, or even just starting and learning about drawing along the way can also help you get a feel for what you want it to look like :)

Currently, I’m reworking a story that I wrote during COVID. It’s about a 13-year-old girl who’s a fully-fledged pirate captain, who struggles to get people to take her seriously (except for her crew, she’s already earned their respect) because she’s only 13. Also, she can talk to cats. I want to explore her character development (she spent the majority of her life not being able to trust anyone, she only trusts her first mate and she needs to learn how to trust the rest of the crew), and also have some stories between the side characters (for example, her rival pirate crew’s captain and a navy captain are in a gay enemies-to-lovers romance)
I’m hoping to turn it into a graphic novel or a webtoon once I get a better feel for the storyline. I’m still in the word building/character creating stage.

It's kinda weird, I know, but I'm writing a fanfiction at the moment for Bungou Stray Dogs. It's for a fic prompt/idea that someone else over on ao3 came up with,. If you're reading/watching BSD you know that Dazai is suícidal, so basically the idea is a "what if he wasn't" situation, where Chuuya notices he's not suicídal anymore, and how a lot can change about a person in 4 years.

To be honest, idk why I said to write it, because I am no author. It just seemed like such a good idea at the time, and it was only after almost 8k words I realised I did not have the motivation to finish it. I've been writing it for over a month now, and I have only got bits and pieces for the main point of Dazai changing his views. It's almost all pre-Fyodor "angst". After that, I only have the mainly canon-compliant dungeon scene.

Are you writing anything, Red Panda?

Nice! And cut it out with the “I am no author” stuff, if you wrote 8k words, you’re a writer now :) I love writing fanfiction for fun because you don’t have to spend the time writing and developing the characters yourself, you can just go ahead and make the story. And writing angst is fun! It’s okay to lose motivation; I have so many unfinished stories of my own lol. I find sharing my stories with my friends and telling them to leave comments and reactions helps a lot with motivation, if you ever want to finish a story. But it’s fine to leave it unfinished, if you’re not having fun writing it anymore. Right now I’m in the very early process of word building and character creating for a story I hope to turn into a graphic novel one day :)

I've invented a fake cult of sorts. Eventually I want to do a pseudo true crime podcast that goes in depth on the cult, such as the leader being a lizard man, or other people who look into the cult disappearing under suspicious circumstances.
