What strategies and/or coping mechanisms do you have for when everything seems like it is going wrong, or for when you are just really sad?

When I'm having a bad day I order some of my favourite food, go to bed and watch some type of no brainer sitcoms like HIMYM, Friends or Two Broke Girls and just shut down

I find being outside in nature to be very healing for me. Whether it’s hiking or photography, gardening or just going for a walk, I find nature the best environment to reflect and just be at peace.

I normally cry, because sometimes I just need to cry. Then I go hug one of my pet chickens and I feel better better.

I keep a list about all the things I like or good memories I have, along with some ways that have helped me be less depressed like being outside or binging spiderman movies

I snuggle up with my chihuahua and tell her all about what’s upsetting me, if you don’t have a chihuahua (you totally should) or a pet, then I would imagine talking to someone, that 99 percent of the times makes me fell better.
Good luck- a certain couchchihuahua

I tell myself that God will get me through whatever I am going through and I also remember that I have a family that is there for me.

Discord. Makes no sense because, they’re just people online. However, they are all like me. They understand me. They have shitty parents too.

When I was younger, I realized that when I went into a DVD watching mode (I mean like days at a time) I was depressed. Now when I start binge streaming, I just get up and take a walk. The more depressed, the longer the walks. It doesn't solve anything, but it does get me out of the house and some fresh air. Plus, you never know who you will meet, what cute doggies you will get to pet or what you will witness. I live downtown in a fairly big city.

I put together a photo album on my phone of happy memories and whenever I'm feeling lonely/depressed/down I go through it to remind myself of the good times that have happened and are yet to happen

1. We go jim. I started lifting in freshman year of highschool and it is something I do all the time and don't ever regret it. I am in great shape for my age, and working out produces endorphins which make you happier! Its also a great way to release anger in a positive way.
2. Find a relatable song and sing to it because why not
3. This one's a little more personal and harder to do, but I go shooting with my dad. if the week was rough, we go out and light up some paper targets.

When I'm having a really down day I make myself do these three things: 1) Achieve something (nothing huge, just clean up a little or complete a task). 2) Create something - draw, paint, bake etc.. 3) Do something kind for someone. Somehow I feel better after doing these.

If I'm feeling really stressed I always listen to the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles soundtrack. Something about it is very soothing to me and I find the game relaxing as well (if it's not the post-game stuff on solo that can be frustrating).

Think that somewhere, someone is having it worse. I look around and see everything my wife and I worked for and feel humbled. We came from a poor situation and worked to make it better. And I rely on my wife to be a voice of reason when my world feels like it's coming down. And Dolly the doggy has a likker problem. Always putting it on us!

Résumé
Razors pain you,
Rivers are damp,
Acids stain you,
And drugs cause cramp.
Guns aren't lawful,
Nooses give,
Gas smells awful.
You might as well live.
