Everyone procrastinates.

One more episode of Netflix, scrolling through social media, or just walking around the house, opening the fridge now and then.

Of course, there are deserved times for relaxation, but neglect to do what is required of us is... common.

I can officially call myself a PRO-crastinator. It appears that I have (unfortunately) leveled up during the Pandemic. So Pandas, just how DO you deal with Procrastination?

small rewards, like a nibble of a cookie after every correct question on a homework assignment or music. i also like to reward myself after i get something done like a snack, or a walk outside, or petting my cat.

I have this studded choker, I invert it and put it around my leg. When I start getting off track, I just yank it. The pain brings me back. If I get a lot done, I give myself a cookie. It works.

Welp, here I go! The one and the only way I have found to be effective (So far) is the Pomodoro technique. I take 25 minutes to do the work, break for 5, then go back and work. Of course, then I'm in a loop. If I break it, I just kinda... fall out. (And not get more stuff done, hence the entire reason for said post.)

Putting on dedicated work clothes.
If you want to clean the house, dress for it.
If you want to repair the fence, dress for it.
I feel kinda dumb when I see myself dressed for work and then not doing it.

Thank you for posting! That actually makes A LOT of sense. If you dress for it, it kinda just riggers your mind to say "Oh look, all dressed up? Well then, get working!" I will definitely try this in the future!

The most effective thing for me is cleaning the space I’m doing stuff in. Whether it’s school, my room, or a random closet (don’t judge) an organized space helps me keep and organize mind. Also, having random snacks like popcorn or nuts helps me stay focused for whatever reason. I hope this helps!

I designate a certain piece of music from Sound Cloud as 'Work Music'. I specifically pick Sound Cloud as Youtube is too tempting in making me watch another video.
(I use this to get through homework and assignments)

I tell myself to reward myself after I got something done. Example: "If you start cleaning and tidy out your closet you can go to McDonalds after your done." "Get that documents ready now and you can stop at the dollar Store on your way home and get something cute" "If you get that problem solved befor 8 pm you can watch netflix for the rest of the evening"

It works really well for me

Breaks. Lots of breaks, and small rewards. It makes the work seem less intimidating.
