It’s simple! Tell us about your day. Good or bad.

Just getting over a beastly cold, I cooked for the first time in days, we had roast pork with crackling, green beans and swede with a bottle of cava, watched Northanger Abbey, messaged everyone, went to bed.

I had traditional Japanese meal ( soba noodles and osechi- mixed baked or boiled seafood and vegetables, sweet black beans and chestnut paste), then played with the kids board games and card games. At midnight we hugged, wished each other happy new year, and went to sleep. Next day we went to the local temple to pray( I don’t , since I’m Christian, but the kids wanted to follow the tradition).

At my friends' place. We all got slightly drunk, ate tons of food, watched Netflix and listened to a lot of music. I love hanging out with people who aren't party animals.

This year has been especially crappy for me, and the last day just had to seal it. I caught a flu, so I spent the whole day aching and feverish. Good thing I didn't have anything planned 😁

New Years Eve is cheese fondue, appies and drinks, then Rummoli for money. We have wonderful friends, our kids get along, we talk about all that we desire for the coming year and let off a couple of fireworks at midnight with a glass of champagne. Perfect start to the new year. Blessings to all!!

My husband, my 5yr old, and I got dressed up. We went to a fancy restaurant where they made her a grilled cheese. She ate really expensive icecream with rainbow sprinkles. It was a lovely evening. 💖

We did a bunch of nothing once my husband got home from work. He is a assistant day manager of a liquor store so it has been his peak season. We went to my mom’s to have appetizers for dinner and work on a puzzle with my sister. We found out around 11:30 that night we have a new nephew. That was exciting but other than that, it was a very chill night, and I loved it!

-Family tradition New Years sunrise walk
-1hr piano practice, 3hrs violin practice, homework-stress-induced tears
-Hung out with my friend group (my four fellow lesbians), snuggled on the couch with said friends, lost a lot of foosball, wreaked havoc on friends foosball matches
-Went home and lost Monopoly spectacularly to my mom
-Collapsed in bed promptly as soon as we made it to 2023 (NOT a late night person lol)
fun day!!

Went to my bestie's house, all the gang has assembled there (total of 10 friends), we ate a ridiculous amount of food, drank just a bit ,we laughed till we almost threw up and we ended the night at 6 am! Oh, and I got the "good luck coin" in my dessert pie piece! (Greek Tradition) Let's hope it will be indeed a lucky year!

We had Christmas lights on... with cheerful background music. My daughter visited Grandma, so it was just my husband and my son. Hubby decides to take out a game called Jenga... and man oh man... I've never laughed to loud! My 8 year old son was literally in tears with laughter! This will be engraved in my memory forever :-)

We have a bit of a family ritual on new year's eve since we don't really 'do' the whole new years / mad crowds / fireworks thing. So on the eve we drive down to the New Forest and spend the day hiking around, have a picnic somewhere (usually a car picnic as the weather is nearly always bad!) before driving a bit further down to the coast to do some beachcombing, eat Fish and Chips and generally just enjoy each other's company. I've never been one for the getting drunk / snog at midnight type thing everyone seems to go in for but driving back before midnight we see enough fireworks so never really feel like we're missing out

In bed, getting over a horrible little virus that started on Christmas Eve afternoon. Where Santa’s little helpers were tapping the inside of my head with pick axes and Rudolph and friends were clopping around in there too. And a brace of elves trying to push my eyeballs out of their sockets. Being such a baby I could have sworn it was viral meningitis (obviously not).

Some presents still remain unopened!

New Year's Eve was spent at my mother's. It was nice for a change. No one got wasted. Everyone had a great time. There were fireworks, cold crisp night. During the day was spent with family, played Monopoly with the kids, painted crafts. I'm not a drinker so I was the sober one, which was no problem. Someone had to monitor and keep everyone safe.
