I'm sure some people on here have been banned from different things by accident or for silly things. Some pandas may also know people who have been banned if so tell us their story.

Yes. I was being sarcastic here on Bored Panda. People couldn't tell that I was joking and I got banned. I was so sad. I still have the email saved. So sad. I try not to be sarcastic anymore because bored panda is part of my life. I don't know what I would do if it didn't exist.

I feel your pain. The banning algorithm on BP is shameful. There should be a 'report' button to target the trolls so the rest of us can be as sarcastic as we like.

I was kicked off LinkedIn when I asked someone if he was a communist. His views and beliefes lined right up with communism, all I did was ask.

I keep saying it, and I will say it again because Bored Panda doesn't inform its members properly and the system is misleading.

BORED PANDA.

10 downvotes get you banned!
1st time it's for 1 day.
2nd time it's for 5 days.
3rd time is permanent.

I've been banned twice so far.
The first time, because I had the audacity to have a different opinion, and then the other people who had the opposite opinion grossly misunderstood what I said (I could see that in their replies, they didn't understand what I said).
The second time, someone asked a question and I answered. I don't even know why I had to get banned for that.

Reasons why I have seen people get banned in this website (at least some that I remember off the top of my head):
- Someone made a joke and it wasn't that funny
- Someone had the audacity to disagree or have a different opinion
- Someone daring to imply that their life was their own business and not other people's
- Someone said "hello" to another member
- Someone whose downvoted comment was "uggg"
- Someone answering a question correctly
- Someone answering a question and was wrong (hey, they still tried to help and their comment lead to the correct question in the end)

What should ACTUALLY get downvoted:
- Flat-out, undeniable, very clearly offensive/inflammatory content and hate speech
- Scams (e.g. "I made this much money! click here to make money too")

Don't silence people with different opinions or if you don't like what they said.
And spread the word about the downvoting system, because BP isn't, and because not letting people talk for no reason fosters an extremely unhealthy environment.

I wish they had a "Report" option that worked like this that was separate from downvotes so we could at least see what other people think of said comments. Sometimes I'm just curious to see whether my fellow Bored Pandians think 😊 for the record, ever since I learned that this is how it works, I've been much more careful with downvoting

I was banned from BP for 3 days one time and 5 the next. Apparently, people that don’t get sarcasm are more likely to downvote, and BP doesn’t have a review process.

I've never told anyone this because it's so nerdy, but: I used to be really into roleplaying on livejournal back in the day, and got banned from a big RP page along with a bunch of other people for causing too much drama. The banned people must have contributed a significant amount of the page's traffic though because it seemed to really die out soon after that.

Is this a way to get around BP not letting specific posts through e.g the banning

I've been banned from BP by commenting 'Gwyneth Paltrow used to be Chris Martin's wife, but he's amazing' on a hate post about Gwyneth Paltrow. Now use this account because I lost my other one. I still don't get why.

Whoa. Hate on the music, not the people. They donate over 10% of their funds to over 30 different charities. So, think about what you just said. It's fine to not like the music they make, but to hate on the person/people is a WHOLE other matter.

facebook. because people like to make racist remarks about Asians food being cat or dog. so i make remarks about their nationality or color and they get mad and report me. funny, i report them and nothing comes from it. Asians are an open market for a*&holes.. my grandma always said what you don't like for yourself, don't like for others.

I was 86'd from a pub in NE Mpls (USA, Minnesota) due to excessive swearing during a Vikings football debacle. No regrets.

I got barred from a pub for having a bit of a meltdown.

I was having a pint or two and then something just snapped. I was convinced that everyone in there were undercover police and spying on me, trying to set me up. While that was going on, I was also certain that I had tucked a few £20 notes under an ashtray (back when we were allowed to smoke in pubs so probably about 15 years+ ago) so I furtively went around the whole pub checking under every ashtray. I must have been round a few times because someone eventually complained and I got the boot. I never found out if I was right though!

And yes, I now take all the pills exactly when I'm supposed to. lol
