Have You Found Any Famous or Infamous Relatives?

Probably the most famous/infamous was Cardinal Wolsey, Henry VIII religious advisor who refused to ask the Pope to allow a divorce from Catherine of Aragon. He had left London knowing that Henry wasn't happy, but was soon recalled most probably to be beheaded. On his way back, he died.
This I found more than bizarre. I was looking at Marriage Records for my relatives in the 1800's. One question was fine. Spouses race. Next question, Spouses race (Original). This was on about 20 certificates, all from Southern Indiana. I had no idea that my ancestors could change their race at will, but I knew there was something odd about my family.
Supposedly, I’m related to Attila the Hun.
My great-great great grandfather was named George, who married a woman named Georgina, and together they had my great-great-grandmother Georgetta, who then had my great grandfather Richard, who had my grandma Melody, who then had my mum
Two things- I found out my maiden name means I am a Picts decedent that is pretty cool. Bad one- found out a cousin about 4 generations back was the Governor of South Carolina during the Civil War and his wife Lucy is on the Confederate Dollar bill. Geez!!!!
My now deceased MIL loved to tell me about the Yankees that were hanged in front of her grandfathers house. She had stacks of Confederate money, and one day I asked her how that was working for her since they lost the war. She also refused to let my BIL's black friend in the house. She believed everyone should still own slaves. All 3 of her boys married Yankee women. So I feel your pain. Use your Pict-ness to your advantage. Next time a religious zealot approaches you, Bring out some blue make-up and a club/j.
