Hi, if you don’t know already, I’m trying to make BookPanda a thing for all of our reader and writer pandas out there! I’ve noticed that there are few posts about books—less than the celebrity posts and even other community posts. I think that writers should be able to share their work without worrying that nobody will see it or not like it and readers should be able to share their favorite books and build friendships over books. It would be awesome for someone who’s neither being inspired to read or write!
Post a piece of writing below: whether your own work, a poem you liked, a line of your favorite book etc.
This post may include affiliate links.
This isn’t exactly writing, but it feels like here is the right place to put it.
Fun/interesting Dnd character ideas:
-lizardfolk (typically primitive lizard people) noble (any class)
-warforged (sentient robot made to fight in a historic war) druid (forest magic person)
-aasimar (person w/ celestial/angel ancestry) warlock of the fiend (serves and gets powers from a demonic patron) and/or tiefling (person w/ demonic/devilish heritage) warlock of the celestial
-tabaxi (feline person) paladin (warrior with magical binding oath) sworn to ideals of loyalty who loves dogs and might be an outcast of a rogue guild
-Druid who LOVES chickens, favorite wildshape (animal form) is a cockatrice (chicken bat lizard thing)
-a generic human fighter named Bob, who has come to avenge the death of his father (actually has a really cool real story, maybe he’s a changeling who has traveled across the multiverse and is pausing to save this world?!)
Darn I can’t edit it but one i forgot to mention is an arracocra (eagle/parrot person) who is a barbarian and/or storm sorcerer (barbarian by channeling their rage and grief, storm sorcerer through innate powers) who lost their wings and tribe/clan through battle and/or experimentation.
We just started reading "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in Lit. class, and I absolutely love it! I'm voicing Helena (it's funny bc I jokingly pine after one of my friends, and she's voicing Demetrius) and my favourite line so far is when Helena says;
"For ere Demetrius look'd on Hermia's eyne,
He hail'd down oaths that he was only mine;
And when this hail some heat from Hermia felt,
So he dissolved, and showers of oaths did melt." (line 223-226)

Is there a line in your writing that you are especially proud of, @me myself and i?
Omg it’s acc such a coincidence that the prom theme (it’s for high schoolers tho so I can’t go) is a Midsummer Nights Dream. I don’t have one favorite line from my writing but one that I like is: “It hurts somewhere strange when the girl at the front tips over on her swollen ankles and the crowd surges to swallow her, when she makes her way up on twig-like knees because she is as proud as the rest of us and don’t we all see it in the eyes glassy with or without tears from her inside and outside cuts.” Sorry it’s so long and feel free to judge it EDIT: what abt a favorite line from one of ur poems?
This is some of the best writing I’ve done, I can add some context in the comments if anyone wants! :D
The Seer Speaks
“They say it is Evil’s physical form. They say to look upon it is to invite madness, to witness the inner workings of all that has ever been dark and wrong in existence. They say a rotten, festering piece of it lurks within us all, a monster watching, waiting, to corrupt and consume until you are nothing but an empty vessel of hate and pain and bloodlust. It goes by many names, and no name at all. The Devourer. The Lurker. Spawn of Magnoct. And sometimes just The Thing.” The Seer paused, her/their/his milky-white gaze fixed on some unknown point as the chamber seemed to fill with a heavy silence, like thick syrup slowly flowing in. Redraven’s scoff seemed as loud and sharp as a hammer breaking a mirror in the dim light.
“Yup, big scary monster! So scared! Think I’m gonna go cry for a while.” She rolled her eyes. “Does this little speech have a point, or are we just staying in your nice labyrinth forever?” The Seer didn’t move a muscle while everyone grew quiet again, and what felt like an eternity passed before she/they/he spoke again.
“But there cannot be dark without light. Good is out there too, a presence like a great warmth, a fire burning within us all. The voice daring us to rebel, to not accept seemingly unstoppable wickedness. To rise, to carry the torch. To love where there is nothing but hate. To fight long after hope has run out.” Another silence began to settle like snow before the Seer’s soft voice rang out again.
“These forces struggle in an eternal battle, onwards, ever onwards, but it has not always been this way. Long, long, ago, hardly after the Great Hatching, there was no Good. There was no Evil. Everything just…was. It was through me that this ended. Through me that fate was delivered. You are not here for the past, however. You are here for knowledge of the present. Before I go, however, young ones, I must warn you. Soon comes a great unbalancing. Fate will twist. The scales will flip. And not all of you will be there to see the other side.”
Yes I don’t know the Seer’s gender, need some help with that. Also they’re all dragons! Why? Because I want them to be! (And dragons are awesome)
