For example “what’s your favourite colour?”

#2

I have a lot, sorry in advance!

1. Has anyone here read cruel prince or a court of thorns and roses?
2. Any tips for high school? (...I just got four pieces of homework. It's the first day.)
3. Fantasy or dystopian genre book recommendations? (I'm fourteen, so maybe something from the YA genre: Hunger games, Percy Jackson, Cruel Prince, etc etc)
4. Can anyone tell me how to come out to my family😭😭

Thanks so much whether you can answer my questions or not

High school tips, really just do your homework. It’s so easy to fall behind and so hard to catch back up, and it can screw up your GPA. Don’t mess around with trying to be “popular” or involve yourself in friend groups with a lot of drama. Find yourself a quiet little friend group with people you can be weird around and they won’t judge. I found mine in theater :) Surround yourself with people with good study habits, so they aren’t a bad influence. Group study sessions are great and really help you get a lot done, if you’re actually planning to study. Fantasy book reccomendarion, I highly recommend the Wings of Fire series. My favorite is the second arc.

1 I have read the Cruel Prince, as well as the other books in the trilogy. 2 Sorry no, I was homeschooled. 3 Brandon Sanderson's cosmere, as well as the rest of his books. 4 If you know your parents are chill with LGBTQIA+ I would recommend just straight (or not so straight😉) up telling them, if you know they are homophobic, I would recommend not telling them until you are out of the house and don't need them for anything in case they respond badly. If you are not sure I would suggest casually bringing up queer topics, such as a famous person coming out, or maybe mention a music artist that you listen to is queer (warning if they respond badly it may result in prohibiting said artist), and go from there.

2 - Do your homework daily. Don't fall behind, it's really hard to catch up later. 3 - Blue Moon Rising - fantasy - Simon R. Green. 4 - Do you have a friend/family friend/adult you feel safe with? If so, let them know you're going to come out to your family. Have somewhere to go if things go badly. Be very calm about things if you can "Parents, I want to talk to you about something very personal." Having someone else there, like your family friend, can make people hold emotional reactions in.

I'm trying to do my homework every day, but already left some pieces for this weekend 😅 I'll put it in my schedule to do today! Blue Moon Rising definitely sounds super interesting and I'll be adding it to my TBR! And I might be aiding my bestie in coming out and I'll try to get her to help me when I'm ready. Thanks so much for the advice and recommendations!

I can't help with most of these, but for 3 if you Google "what should I read next" there are of websites that make book recommendations based on various things - books you like, genres you read, things you enjoy in novels etc. I'd suggest looking at some of those and see if you get good recommendations.

I recommend Harry Potter. For high school do what your teachers expect. Don't delay doing homework

3. All of Julie Kagawa's books. She's a not very known author but her books are incredible.

I had to search her up, but her books definitely sound intriguing. I'll definitely look into it a little more!

I never wanted to be a mom. One day realised time was ticking and said f**k it, lets do it. Well if that child isn't my passion I dunno what is. I feel so lucky to have her and know and her teach her & watch her grow. Can't believe I didn't do it sooner.
