I am in 7th grade. It is coming up on the end of the year, and I’m worried about my math skills. So, any tips? And to any other 7th grade math students, I hope you can find some answers on here helpful.

Things I need tips on:

Equations

Fractions

Percentages

Anything you think would be helpful for 7th grade math!

alright so i haven't done on-level 7th grade math since i was in 6th grade (i'm in algebra this year) but i'll try to help. if you have notes from the year, use them. i made the mistake of not doing that before. and practicing things on IXL, DeltaMath, and GetMoreMath (not sure if you have a school login but while it is very annoying i will admit those practice problems help) and if you have any specific questions i will do my best to answer them.

For fractions, you should simplify them before you do anything else, and percentages are essentially fractions, so if you've got fractions down, you have percentages. Also, don't be afraid to ask teachers for help, and look at resources like Khan Academy if you're struggling. Good luck with math!

    - For equations make sure you combine any like terms you may have
    - You may know this but for percentages when you have a decimal move the decimal point over two spots and you have your percent (Example: 0.67 = 67%)

Fractions I have no advice on, they are evil and I hate them.

My one trick for percentages is that you can just divide by 100 and then multiply by the percent you're trying to find. Like, if you need to know what 17% of 64 is, just divide 64 by 100 (0.64) then multiply that by 17. You get 10.88, which is 17% of 64. You may already know that, and I'm sorry if it doesn't make sense.

As for equations, while I am pretty good at them, idk how to explain them very well without seeing examples. I didn't have normal middle school math, and now I'm in high-school, so I'm not sure what types of equations you're doing. But always remember to pay attention to how many terms you have, and how many of them can be combined. If you have any specific questions I may be able to help, I've been told by several teachers that I'm good at math. I'm not always the best at explaining stuff though. Also, I think other people have said this, but just practice a lot. I'm not a huge fan of deltamath, but it is a good tool that can be very helpful.
