It’s been proven time and time again that not all heroes wear capes, some rock a shaggy coat of fur and run on 4 legs. Max, a 17-year-old blue heeler from Queensland, Australia, is no exception as his heroic actions are praised all over the internet.

Last Friday, a 3-year-old girl named Aurora was reported missing after she wandered off with her dog into bushland and disappeared. Local police and a group of volunteers searched the area throughout the night, however, they were unable to locate her. The girl’s grandmother, Leisa Bennett was with the search party on Saturday, when she heard Aurora’s voice. “I shot up the mountain, and when I got to the top, the dog came to me and led me straight to her.” Bennett told ABC Brisbane. The 17-year-old deaf and half-blind family dog has apparently spent the cold and rainy night with the girl, keeping her warm. “He never left her sight. She smelled of dog, she slept with the dog.” Leisa Bennet explained. Fortunately, Aurora was in good health, despite a couple of scratches.

For his loyalty and dedication, local police awarded Max a title of an honorary police dog. We hope he gets many treats for being the best boy!

I love these dogs! My parents owned a blue heeler when i was little and he also was super smart. When i was 4 and my brother 5 decided to go to the park( 3 houses away) without asking my parents couldn't find us and our blue heeler ozzie found and dragged us home by the t - shirt 1 by 1. He lived to be 18.

Good morning Renee, Max was the dog of my mother. She lived in Bonn with her second husband. Our communication was pretty bad. Max brought us together. I had him 2 weeks in care. He lost weight and I spent the whole day with him. My mother was so blessed...... After that vacation Max recognized me every time ...... I think it was my mums third kid...

Dogs are so intertwined with humans, we share a long history together and its unlike any other inter-species relationship on Earth, and it is absolutely beautiful.

Your comment doesn’t make sense... There’s a difference between super heroes, and actual heroes.
