There is so much cruelty and messed up bs in dog sled racing and articles like this make it harder for people to take the issue seriously. The netflix show "losers" about aly zirkle. One guy says "the dogs are not their teammates, they used as fuel to be burned in pursuit of victory." Mushing can be humane, but racing can't. It just took me working in racing to see the issue and take it seriously. Ive worked with animals for most of my life, i work at a dog shelter now, i have plenty of sad stories and I know life isn;t always pretty or easy. Dog sled racing really rattled me with how bad it gets. every thing bad about dog sled racing thats out there is true. peta, humane mushing, the sled dogs film, sled dog action coalition. All that stuff is true. The dodo has as article "the iditarod is worse than a nightmare for dogs" and its accurate, its just like my old job in racing
