I Found That Many Articles About Coronaviruses Were Difficult To Digest, So I Made An Easy Infocomic (17 Pics)

This is the first comic about the coronavirus that I published.

In January, I was on sick leave for three weeks due to a respiratory illness. While I was ill, I spent a lot of time researching respiratory illnesses. At that time, news about the COVID-19 had just broken. As an illustrator, I made a summary of what I’ve learned about coronaviruses in general. I found that many informative articles about the topic were difficult to digest, so I tried to simplify the comic as much as possible so that they would be understandable even for children.

I have also made the comic available as an infographic—feel free to download and print them as posters. With the help of many individuals, this comic has been translated into multiple languages as well! If you would like to help as a translator, please email me at comicsforgood@gmail.com.

Stay tuned for my follow-up comics about the coronavirus and how to exercise precaution!

My name is Violeta and I am an editor here at Bored Panda. I love reading memes for a living. It’s obviously much more than that, but I appreciate the variety of topics, information, and pics I get to see every day and share with the world! Those funny memes really make my day too. Being born in the ’90s in post-Soviet Lithuania speaks more about me than I’d like to admit. I’m still learning about the world and myself, but I do love my friends, traveling, art, and my cat. My favorite fact to share about myself is that I used to hide meatballs in my friend’s pockets at lunch so I could go play outside. I wish all those meatballs could find their way back to me someday.

Also, don't forget to clean your phone often. It's the thing you touch the most. Especially if you commute.

Plus people unwittingly put them down on restaurant tables and chairs that may have not had the best cleaning in the world. Once you pic up the phone and use it..you then touch your face. Oops.

Thing is, these things should all be common sense and part of your daily, possibly even hourly routine, NORMAL things EVERYONE does ALL THE TIME. The fact we have to tell grown-a*s adults to wash their god damn hands is outrageous.

I wonder how all the soap is sold out now. Like don’t people have soap already? Didn’t they wash their hands before?

To put a long story short: living in a big city, using public transport, working somewhere with people around and being forced to go shopping once in a while, you can't avoid it anyway. Yes, it's a very serious disease and we all have to act reasonably but please stop all the panic. Yesterday I wanted to buy water and toilet paper and didn't get any of it. That's just weird.

This is one of the clearest and most rational prevention guides. Please share. Also, I hope the author puts it on Buzzfeed, Quora, Instagram, Facebook.

Yeeehh There are some facts wrong with those comics. 1. If you're healthy and show no symptoms - DONT wear masks. Since everyone went panic mode and bought a shitton of those things, the people who REALLY need them (such as cancer patients for example) do not have them anymore. 2. Masks in general do not hold "a day". They are effective for 2 hours, after that they are useless. 3. Elderly and allready sick people are in danger the most. People under 39 years old shouldn't worry too much (Death ratio under 39 is 0.2%) 4. The first traces of the Virus go back to MARCH 2019. One year ago - It didnt just spread the exact moment it was discovered. It probably spread months and months ago. Remember 4 months ago when you didnt get paranoia because someone sneezed? See... Stay calm.
