30 Scenes That Got Cut From Harry Potter Movies That Fans Wish Hadn’t Been Deleted
It’s no secret that Harry Potter has had a powerful effect on the entire generation of millennials. Millions of kids like you and me grew up reading books and watching films of the captivating Wizarding World, and all these characters and stories are surely ingrained into our memory. No wonder any time we hear something about the Boy Who Lived, the hair on our arms stands up and we're taken on a blast to the past.
So, this time, we are looking at some of the most interesting, thought-provoking, and illuminating scenes that didn’t make it into the final cut of the Harry Potter theatrical releases. The real HP fans may have already spotted them in the uncut releases or extended versions, but if you've only experienced the magical world on the big screen, this may be something new!
And honestly, you don’t need to be a Potterhead to realize every single scene is pure gold, from Ginny grabbing Harry's hand in Deathly Hallows to Dudley telling Harry he's not a waste of space.

Ginny Tells Some Gossip
In a previous interview, Andy McCray, the founder and editor of the website Harry Potter Fan Zone, told us that such a passionate and enthusiastic following of the Harry Potter film series is due to the fact that it embedded itself in the zeitgeist of the 2000s.
For the millennial generation who grew up reading books, the Harry Potter world serves as a form of fantasy escapism in this increasingly hectic world. “An entire generation grew up reading the books and watching the films, and the characters and stories have transcended the page to became part of popular culture," Andy said.

The story of The Boy Who Lived is still relevant today because it has entertainment and nostalgia factors to it. Andy explained that ”the HP movies deal with themes—love and hate, good versus evil, overcoming adversity and standing up against injustice, finding inner strength—which are particularly relevant in the modern world.” The themes are timeless and manage to touch viewers of virtually any generation.

Peeves
Before I'd seen any film, I did imagine Peeves looking like how Rick Mayall did in Drop Dead Fred. But was disappointed that Mayall's scenes as Peeves had been cut. He's in the books so much, it's criminal he wasn't in the films. Especially in Order of the Phoenix.
he could have changed the movie sooo much! i even rewatched all the movies for peeves after readin the books... but i was disappointed cuz he sounded really fun xD
Load More Replies...Peeves is the best thing missing. But I didn't picture him like he's shown here. Maybe it's good he's just in my imagination :) my fave is when he follows umbridge around blowing raspberries whenever she talks XD
I was disappointed that Peeves wasn't in the movies, but I imagined him a little more like a clown with nastiness.

What I learned from this one is there are multiple version of the movie out there....Lots of people are claiming to have seen a lot of these scenes but I can confirm they are not present in the versions I've watched.
yes. everybody has different versions of the movie. some people have scenes in their movie that were cut out later, some people have scenes that were added later, some people don't have any of these. but everyone keeps commenting on it and honestly i think it's a waste to do so. it's just different versions of the movie! all of these scenes were probably cute out at SOME point but not for each version
Load More Replies...There. Are. Multiple. Versions. My gosh!!! The comments, from the same people, over and over, are insane. The title was misleading. None of these were in the theatrical releases. But it seems every time they're on television, new scenes are added. It's why I keep watching them! It's fun!
yes! it's so annoying. there were at least 3 people continuously commenting "this wasn't deleted!". got quite annoying near the end
Load More Replies...A lot of these were bonus features on the DVDs, too. I always thought they should have made each book from Goblet of Fire onwards into 2 movies.
The ONLY WAY . was to make this into a series , and each season a year. And each chapter a episode. Just copypaste everything word by word line by line but like more dramatic. I liked the fight scene at the end of OOP . It was much better and visually appealing
Load More Replies...Depending on which broadcasting network is airing the films, they include the deleted scenes that were not part of the theatrical release. Hence why when you buy copies of the film, you can get the extended edition, the theatrical release or you get bonus features, which are typically the cut scenes.
One: multiple versions, good lord people!! Two: Almost all of these (and more) were in the books, just showing further that the books are so much better than the movies because of these small details that build the characters. It's so hard to translate good writing in a book into a good film.
It takes me back, guys... it’s unfortunate though because i feel like these books are slightly tainted for me now with all of the stuff jk Rowling has said and everything happening with this fandom... 😕
I loved the books, so I was very angry about the changes they made for the movies. Two are the worst, in my opinion. At the end of "Sorcerer's Stone" ("Philosopher's Stone" in the UK), the fight between Harry and Professor Quirrell was severely downplayed. In the book, Harry nearly died. The other change that I found really offensive was how they "Hollywoodized" then ending of "Deathly Hallows, Part II." The physical fight between Potter and "He Who Must not be Named" was appalling and unforgivable.
Hello, as the text says, these scenes were all cut from the theatrical releases of the movies but you may have seen them if you had the uncut DVD versions :)) (Post editor)
