If you’re super young and still learning about the things around you, even a shop can blow your mind. So when Zira, the cutest half Corgi puppy on the planet, and her human went to Target, she just couldn’t handle the excitement. Her infectious ear-to-ear smile is taking Twitter by storm, and it’ll brighten your day.

“This was her second trip to a shopping mall, although her first one she just slept the entire time,” her owner Jesse told Bored Panda. “She reminded us so much of Rose from Titanic, the way she leaned against the front of the cart, looking out into the world of Target for the first time! We could tell she loved it so much.” Zira, the cute Corgi and Mini Aussie mix is only 4 months old, so she’s constantly looking for anything she can chew. “She loves getting new toys, ones that squeak, crinkle, or bounce. And since she’s our first pet dog, she gets spoiled as much as possible!”

On Twitter, photos of this happy dog’s amazing time at the shop have accumulated over 487K likes and 127K retweets, bringing instant fame to the Monterey, CA-based puppy.

But that trip earned Zira some real love, too. “While we were turning a corner, this woman shopping saw her and freaked out,” Jesse said. “She couldn’t stop going on and on about what a cute dog Zira was. Zira just started licking her, and the woman loved it. She even picked our adorable dog up and let her kiss her face!”

I work in retail and everyone thinks this is cute but its not. I cant tell you how many shopping carts have been soiled by dogs. Sometimes we find out and clean them but im sure many times they just return the cart for some unsuspecting customer to use. Imagine all the things you buy coming in contact with that. There are many other reason only service dogs should be aloud and even service dogs should not be in the carriage because of hygiene issues. Not cool very selfish! I feel very strongly about this i have seen a lot in 30 years of retail.

Can totally confirm (also worked in retail) our carts were pressure washed 4 times a year but who knows in between. I had to run away and hide a laugh when one of my managers told a woman her dog can't be in the cart. Her response? "Why not, you let people's nasty little kids in there?" Lol

Didn't she say this Target allowed pets though? I have a service dog, and even though he's legal and legit, (I'm legally blind), I still run into people in grocery stores who have a fit. I have to tell them they are discriminating against an American with a Disability, and then they are sorry, but a few remain a-holes! If your dog isn't a service dog, or animal, it should not be allowed in a store, unless the store says it's okay. It's then up to customers to decide whether they choose to shop there or not.

Zira is insanely cute! Sure, dirty doggy paws I'm the basket are gross, but then again, how about drippy chicken or beef water from people's meat purchases, dirt from fresh produce, pesticides from unwashed produce, leaks from household chemical purchases, leaks from dirty diapers, and who-knows-what from toddlers' shoes? Germs are just everywhere. At least doggy germs come with cute!

Target has a corporate policy against pets in stores. Doesn't matter if the dog is "cute!!" Honestly wouldn't matter anyway, have you heard of health codes? Dogs are not allowed in stores that sell food, you know like Target. The dog has to stay home. This has nothing to do with whether you think the dog is super cute riding in the basket or if "other gross things go in there".

I'm surprised no one's mentioned that Zira actually doesn't look happy in the pics taken of her. Sure, she's totally adorable. But she's clearly stress yawning and stress panting in a couple of the pics. You can tell by how her tongue is curling and how wide her eyes are open. She's not relaxed or enjoying herself in the slightest.

After seeing all of the post about dogs in stores. I wonder if things have changed in Germany. When I was a kid it was completely normal to go to a cafe/restaurant and see people's dogs sitting on the floor next to the table. I can try and empathize with those with allergies or immunity issues, but they bare the responsibility for their issue more than any other. I saw a post about a child with a compromised immune system. The mother was irate about kids coming to school with a cold. Blaming everyone for trying to harm their kid. Again I can empathize with the struggle they have to deal with, BUT... The rest of the world cannot accommodate every issue that exist. Otherwise nothing would exist. I probably sound uncaring. Asfor the dog messes. Those people suck. That is something they can and should have cleaned up.

How should these things have changed in Germany? Dogs are allowed in nearly all restaurants, as long as they are QUIETLY relaxing UNDER the table, since they are not your damn children. Same for riding the bus or train. They are NOT allowed in supermarkets, for reasons of behaviour, hygienic issues etc. Some hardware stores allow dogs to prevent them be cooked in the car during summer, but that's all.

I'd prefer to take my pet to a store! At least he isn't screaming and crying at every turn of an aisle! People are complaining about the "mess" a dog can leave, what about those darn kids who leave crumbs in the seat, sticky handles, and spilled juice in the cart! I would at least "potty" my pet first and avoid a mess! Kids, not so much and most parents don't care about the mess their kiddos leave!

Please stop doing this! This is the reason those who have service animals have a hard time taking them in public. You are making things more difficult for those who have actual service animals. Your untrained dog can distract a service animal.

If the store allows people to bring pets that are not service animals in (Home Depot, Nordstrom, Macy's are some of the chains that do), then your argument is irrelevant. If they only allow service animals, then I agree with you.

Pets don't belong in stores. Only service animals do. Even in pet stores, you can have conflicts between animals. I saw someone behind me at PetSmart letting their cat try out several toys, and then put them all back. NO! I work with several visually impaired people, and their dogs should go anywhere they do. But pets don't belong in stores! I just took my 2 cats out today for the first time in a year, and it was to get their booster vaccines, and they each have a carrier. I practice what I preach.

Depends on the store policy and pet behavior. In Germany, people take their pets everywhere - and no one puts up with ill-behaved pets - even on the streets. I saw a dog on a leash on a sidewalk bark at another dog walking the other way and everyone glared at the owner for not having trained his dog better. In the US there are several chains (Macys, Home Depot) that allow leashed pets.

It's complete bullshite. These are not service animals. They may be companions, but they are not allowed into stores because of health concerns. People are really taking advantage of the system. Keep your dogs at home. Or better yet, TAKE THEM FOR A WALK.

For the most part, stores can decide if they want to allow pets in. As far as airplanes - having them out of a carrier may require it be a service animal, but in-cabin travel in a carrier is legal on almost every airline.

I would prefer most dogs over many adults and a good many children. Can you imagine the bacteria from a soiled diaper? I've work in retail too and saw a woman leave her child unattended and he reached into his diaper and "decorated" a section of the store. Animals can't help being animals and even their owner can put down a pee pad in the cart.

Big difference between bringing your dog into a store and having them get into a cart and them walking on the sidewalk. Your need to have your dog with you everywhere so you can take pictures and post them do not superceed the health of the public. Dogs are unsanitary and should be kept on the ground, not in carts. The world is not your selfie playground. Grow up. By the way, my father was a Veterinarian, I grew up working for him. I love animals, I am also realistic about them.

I think that well behaved dogs (who don't jump/bark at people and/or pee or poop on the floor) should be allowed in all buildings that don't carry food, but should not be put in the cart. Sure, it is cuter and probably easier for you but this is a dog we are talking about, not a doll, and the dog would probably prefer to walk. Also, the dog would be getting the cart dirty. Ask if you want to take the dog in a store and on a short, well controlled leash.

Bonnie you really don't like kids do you. You do realize you were a kid once! I'm not against dogs they should be service dogs on leases if they go into a store. Why is that so hard? Pets don't have to be in carts. Unless they are trained to handle the noise, bright lights, lots of people and other stimuli you can be doing them a disservice and stressing them out.I have a son on the spectrum and he occasionally has a meltdown ( not a tantrum) so we go outside. I see dogs barking pulling on leashes and owners just keep walking along. it's not ok.

This is another example of people taking advantage of the service dog laws (it's against the law for retailers to even ask). It puts a negative view on the importance of service/therapy dogs, and gives a bad rep to responsible owners (those who actually need the animals for assistance).

Lori Rothman

It is not against the law for retailers to ask. They cannot ask the nature of the disability, but they can ask if it is a trained service animal and what task it is trained to do. That is according to the ADAgov website.

Pet dander triggers an asthma attack with dangerous COPD symptoms closing my bronchial tubes. I love dogs and wish I could be near them, but I love breathing more. Please don't be an entitled person. Respect those of us who risk serious illness or death. Another point, where do pet owners draw the line? Should society allow a pet owner to bring a dozen dogs in a store? How about horses, monkeys or emus?

There are people who are seriously allergic to certain fragrances - should stores refuse to allow people to sample perfume or allow people who have over-done their perfume into their store? Store owners have a right (with exceptions for health codes) to allow pets into their stores. You may want to avoid Home Depot and Macys and Nordstroms because they all allow leashed pets in their stores.

Regardless of whether the "droppings" are from pets or children the bottom line indicates a lack of responsibility and/or consideration by the owner/parent. And there's quite a bit of that no matter if Target or Macy's. That being said, Zira is eyepoppingly adorable, and she can adorn my basket any time!

Exactly. The issues with both pets and kids stem from poor behavior management/training on the part of the adults involved. I've seen pet owners who are far more responsible with their pets in public than some parents with their children. I've seen a dog practically mauled by a toddler while the parent said nothing and ignored the owners requests to keep their child away - then started to scream at the owner when the dog growled (didn't bite, didn't lunge, just growled after having his/her ears pulled and eyes poked).

To all the people saying pets should never be allowed in stores: I worked the front door as security at a sporting store that allowed pets, meaning that I saw every pet that came in during the 8 hours I was on the clock. We sold plenty of food there. It is not against health codes. I am scared of small dogs. I have severe pet allergies. I am still alive. We never had any problems with pets in our store. Ever. We had: dogs, cats, ferrets, guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, rats, mice, and more come into the store. Get over yourselves. We drew in MORE customers being pet-friendly than we did before people found out we were pet-friendly. No one died. We had no incidents. The only rules we had for pets was that they were trained for relieving themselves outside and that they were friendly. Other than that, all were welcome, and again, no problems at all.

I've seen more snotty nosed, slobbering, filthy kids in carts than I'd like to remember. I'd much rather handle a cart after a cat or dog was in it vs. a nasty kid! Most places now offer disinfectant wipes by the cart area so no one should have an issue handling a cart since they can clean it prior to using it. Makes everyone happy - no complaints necessary! =^.^=

How r******d people can be to compare a human to a dog?? Specially a child?? I don’t want your nasty a*s hairs all over my food!! And if other stores are pet friendly then take your dog there then NOT TO TARGET!!! And for those stupid enough to say my dogs go where I go well guess what?? I really really hope I don’t see ur a*s and your dogs at target or any other grocery store (that are not pet friendly if they do I would never shop there) because I’ll get you kicked out simple as that!!! I’m not allergic to dogs but my son is and Iam not gonna put his health in risk just because y’all can’t leave your damn pet at home for an hour!!! Taking your dog to a grocerie store is a choice allergies are not. Funny how they talk about kids are brats and don’t behave but talk about I take my dog wherever I want or my dog doesn’t have to stay anywhere just because you don’t like dogs sound pretty f*****g bratty to me just because they got away once doesn’t mean dogs allowed.

This: Not all shops, however, allow pets and not all animals enjoy such a commotion. Be careful while putting your little one inside a shopping trolley. Many food shops are NOT allowed to have animals in. For health and safety reasons. guide dogs excepted.

I lived in Germany, where dogs was allowed in numerous malls and stores. Of course, not in the food shops. Not in a cart, but on the leashes.

If people are allowed to drag their loud, obnoxious, snot-nosed semen demons everywhere, pet owners should be allowed to haul their doggy into Target ...less risk of virus passing, plus less risk of biting from the dogs!

Your dog( non service animal)went to Target , and left dog hair in the cart and all over Target for people with serious allergies. Way to go!!!! Try thinking about others. Non service animals need to stay out of public places.

I don't want dog a*s in my shopping carts. Groceries sold in the store or not - no pet a*s. I love my dog and my cat, however they do not belong in stores. The only ones the dog has ever been in are ones where it is posted specifically that they are allowed.
