I Run A 3D Jelly Cake Business Called Jelly Alchemy Where I Hand-Craft Jelly Cakes With Intricate Designs In Them (35 New Pics)
I run a 3D jelly cake business called Jelly Alchemy. I first learned this 3D art three years ago when it was relatively new in Asia. This is now taking Asia by storm! My 3D design journey started with simple floral arrangements. As I continued to practice, it has now evolved into more complex koi fish ponds, birds and characters made out of jelly flowers.
The method used to craft 3D jelly cake art is quite fascinating. Everything is made upside-down inside a flavored clear seaweed jelly canvas (some people use gelatin). Hot liquid colored jelly (usually coconut jelly for my work) is injected into a clear canvas using specialized tools. Each cake design is created petal by petal (as for the birds, it would be feather by feather!) through this injection method. And yes, these cool cakes are all edible and delicious!
If you want to see more of my cake creations, you can find them here, here and here.

This all started from curiosity when I first encountered this art whilst overseas. I was so intrigued by it that it motivated me to take lessons for it. I have always had an interest in food decorating and cooking. So this form of art definitely hit the right notes for me.
Aside from crafting, I also teach jelly art and sell my own brand of jelly art supplies. When I see my students excelling and being able to witness how jelly art has changed their lives, it gives me a lot of satisfaction. I am constantly striving to create awareness to spread this art as I believe it can bring a lot of joy to others.
The most difficult part of the creative process would be executing very complex ideas (i.e. multilayering work, sceneries) into jelly. Most of my complex pieces will sometimes take days to plan to ensure that the outcome is as realistic and perfect as possible. Of course, there will always be limitations as to what I can do but challenges make my job a tad more interesting. I enjoy unmoulding my work especially when I am able to bring an idea to life.
Each of these beautiful cakes can take up to 5 hours to complete depending on complexity. It definitely takes a lot of patience to complete these dessert ideas but so worthwhile once you unmould the jelly to reveal the final masterpiece!
Sometimes whilst strolling past nature, I will stop to admire the flowers and study it. I love looking at pretty things and will get random ideas when looking at pictures online. Often more ideas will flow to me when I am in the midst of creating something.
Sometimes I do feel burned out by doing creative work, especially when it takes an immense amount of concentration. Difficult pieces can sometimes take over 8 hours of continuous work to complete. I often do not schedule crafting difficult pieces back to back as I need the energy for my other responsibilities too as a mum to 2 boys!
Last year, I launched my own jelly powder brand, website, online courses and YouTube channel. This year, my focus is on strengthening brand awareness and dabbling in content creation. I am currently working on a few jelly art pieces in collaboration with a content creation company.
They’re very interesting, the texture is like firm jello, but the taste is a clear and fruity sweetness.
I love peacocks 🥰 this one and the purple feathered peacock are breathtaking
These are such stunning flowers 💐, they almost look too real to eat.
These are just so amazing, how do you even get all that detail into them? So vibrant.
I love that each flower has such detail you can imagine the texture of it.
Love the orange color with the purple flowers, the contrast really pops.
I'm not sure I'd want to eat any of them (I'd probably try some but I'm not *that* big fan of eating jello) but they do look beautiful. More art than food, but that's OK by me, I don't mind, I got to look at pictures of gorgeous works of art
The most beautiful and intricate designs. You are extremely talented and I am sure they taste amazing
Cqn someone please like my comment so I can find this again after work. I dont have a way to share it. I really want to try this. 🙏
All of these desserts are magical. The creativity and artistry are brilliant. Thank you for sharing your work with us ❤️. They all look almost too gorgeous to consume. Such a special and and wonderful talent.
Fantastic, every single one of them! And, to me, too pretty to eat literally as I don't eat jelly 😄 Definitively a very gifted artist there!
These are beautiful! Can you please mention something about the flavor? Do the different colors have different flavors? Thank you for sharing your gift with us!
Didn't even know there was such a thing before this post..... These are Sooooo cool.
An edible art, very beautiful, congratulations on your accomplishments and patience Siew!
