This Avocado Took Me Only 1 Hour To Hand-Carve

My name is Daniele Barresi, I am 26 and I am from Bagnara Calabra (RC), Italy. I started carving at the age of 7 and I describe this period like the best in my life. I also became world champion of carving fruit and vegetables twice.

When I touch my knife, my mind gives up to the heart and it transmits directly, to the hands, giving different forms to the decorations. It’s like magic.

This is an amazing avocado that took only 1 hour to hand-carve.

Whoa....ONLY one hour?? That's amazing. Do you eat your carvings once they're finished?

No they usually just tend to stand outside upperclass high end supermarkets and cafΓ©s and throw them at people such as "tamsin" because ' She only just met the girls for brunch and she hasn't let anyone get a word in for the past 20 minutes whilst she drawls on about her latest juicing routine and how little baby India-Rose May Fletcher-Henson only has the purest free range breast milk because powdered milks contain ACTUAL lactose and you know she has her sensitivity.

"World champion of carving fruit and vegetables" WTF, who'd thought they had a contest for this. Seems straigth out of a Monty Python sketch.

Somewhere a hipster is weeping over both the beauty of the carving and the loss of an avocado

The carving is great and all...but, how did you get it to not turn brown? That's even more impressive.

I simply wouldn't have the patience to do this for anywhere near an hour even if I had the talent of this guy.

The good thing is that you can eat what you remove from the carvings.

You're talented but why waste your talent and time on something that will rot? Seems a bit foolish to me, you'll realize how important time is when it starts flying by when you're older. Put your talent to better use and use items that will retain the beauty that you've created.

How is it foolish? Beautiful things do not need to be permanant and sometimes impermanance adds to beauty. It sounds like doing this makes her really happy " I started carving at the age of 7 and I describe this period like the best in my life," which means this is not a waste of time or talent.
