This Online Group Is All About Fails That Fit Under The ‘You Had One Job’ Phrase (50 New Pics)
Nobody is exempt from making mistakes. It’s what makes us human. In fact, we manage to mess up even in rare cases when we're faced with a task so simple that failure just seems not to be an option.
And probably nothing shows how good we are at being bad like the subreddit r/OneJob. It’s a fun online community slash depository dedicated exclusively to those occupational mishaps that make you scream the classic phrase, "You Had One Job!"
We at Bored Panda love visiting this corner of the internet and have already covered it here and here, but these folks have kept themselves busy and discovered plenty of new fails since our last publication, so we just had to make a new one!

Not Sure If It Quite Fits Here But...
How This Got Through Is Beyond My Understanding
To learn more about why sometimes people struggle at work, we contacted life coach Dr. Mariette Jansen.
"There are a number of reasons, which are either related to internal demotivation or external demotivation," Jensen, aka Dr. De-Stress, told Bored Panda.
"Internal demotivators are connected to someone's mindset, values, and thought processes and are often carried over from one job to another."
Ah Yes A Therapist That Doesnt Give Therapy
She should have been more thoughtful in her response. A lot of school therapists are only licensed to cover specific topics (stupid I know) and can lose their license for it. They should have pointed them in the direction of someone who could have helped them.
The OP may not be a reliable narrator. I have been quite surprised sometimes at how clients can warp innocuous things I have said if they think it will benefit them.

Wow..I wish I'd been there. A: I would like to offer my condolences,I do know how it feels,I lost my dad at 16. B: Did you find anyone qualified to help? C:hang in there. It's a life changing thing, absolutely, no matter what kind of dad.
That's my school in a nut shell. We go to our history teacher who's really nice and cares about us.
thats like how my school's counselor is lowkey homophobic and totally invalidated my identity in one sentence and is totally useless when kids are having panic attacks :D fantastic!! :D :D /s
My ex-psychiatrist once told me that my panic attack medication wasn't necessary. Sigh.
Damn she should be slapped, she should've tried to help at least a little... She could have referred him to a therapist, and offered a hug! Where's the compassion?!?
Bear in mind that “Therapist” with a gap in the middle is “The rapist” - just saying…
Lol this therapist is worse than mine saying that I looked like lord farquad from Shrek when I showed my mermaid costume to her. 🤦🏼♀️
Had one of those. A psychologist that, when I was about 18 and wanted to address a rape I'd experienced and how to deal with it, simply said "Hmm. Let's talk about your childhood. You seem to have too close of a relationship with your mother." Thanks, boomer
I had an eating disorder and often vomited in the school bathroom. One day the school therapist said to me "stop vomiting here, if you die your parents will sue the school"
School therapists I’ve dealt with are never great… I’m sure there are some tho :)
They left out the part where they were talking to their physical therapist
Yes! Now, if you felt grief about anything school-related, I am sure she would help. How do these people get these jobs and keep them?
In school, I never knew what the therapists were for. The only interaction I ever had was when mine saw me kissing my black boyfriend in the parking lot and called me in to say she didn't think he was the right boyfriend for me. I am white and it was mid-80s. I honestly didn't think it was about race back then, but later looking back, I'm pretty sure it was. At the time, I thought it was because he was a C student, smoked a bit of weed, and was mischievous. But he was a good kid who was no different than half of the other guys in the school. I yelled at her and left. Never heard another word about it. Are they there for actual therapy? (They were called "councilors" in my day.
First semester at uni a professor gave us an assignment and refused to explain. She said it wasn't her job to teach us how to make it, just to explain the subject she taught. She failed a couple people who didn't do the paper as she wanted but went back when the whole class told her she refused to tell us how it was supposed to be done.
I am hoping he went to the counselor. They are guidance counselor that help pick out classes and get things in order to apply for college. They are not therapists and should refer you on to one.
The man that loved this comment in a sick, sick person. Preferably the therapist.
School counselor & LPC here. If she actually said it that way, that is terrible. However, a school counselor is only qualified to do "school" type therapy such as Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. We are not supposed to do long term therapy with students which this student absolutely needs. She should have referred the student to a grief counselor in order for them to get the best care possible. It is highly unethical for a person to practice beyond their training and can often do more harm than good if they try.
School counselors do not have the same education or license here in Texas. They are not therapists but should have been able to address a crisis and provide support until linked with someone
I doubt that those were the exact words that the school therapist/counselor said. It may have been what it sounded like in the poster's head - that they can't be helped in the manner that they were expecting to be. To the poster, I'm truly sorry for your loss, and grief can make you very emotional, angry and reactionary when you feel that things are not going your way, such as not getting the help you need, or feel that you are being passed over to somebody else as their problem. Trust me, have been there, and it can get better...
I'm a psychologist and there are certain topics a therapist can't discuss, there's actually a branch called thanatology but he/she should've tell you about it

Suicide Prevention: Reducing The Number Of Suicidal People
According to Dr. De-Stress, some examples of internal demotivators are:
- Not having a strong work ethic – work is a means to an end, not a passion or fulfillment;
- The personal values are not reflected in the current job – it is hard to motivate yourself when you are a vegan working in a meat factory;
- Being fatalistic and negative and not seeing the point or thinking how you are contributing to the wealth of the board;
- Hating the job.

Ah Yes, I Would Like Satan For Christmas
While external demotivators can be:
- Not feeling valued by the manager, team, or colleagues;
- Feeling underpaid;
- Being suffocated by the work environment, such as being micro-managed, not heard, or not stimulated;

The pandemic hasn't things easier, too. A survey from the Pew Research Center showed that 42% of US adults under the age of 50 feel difficulties in finding the motivation to work since the beginning of the pandemic.
But the older folks seem to concentrate a lot easier, as respondents aged 50 and over said the same just 20% of the time.

I Don’t Think The Person Who Made This Understands What It Means When You Put A Line Through A Word Like That
Dr. De-Stress said that the first step toward regaining motivation at what you do starts from within by "becoming aware which demotivators are at work."
This allows you to consider which ones are within your power to change, but if it is not possible to better your situation, it might be a sign that you need to start looking around for another job.

"It is the personal energy someone puts in that determines the motivation," Dr. De-Stress highlighted. "People have more power than they realize and greater abilities to make the changes they desire."
"The 'As If' principle as presented by Richard Wiseman, proving that our actions can prevail our negative feelings and create positive ones. It is the 'fake it 'til you make it’ and pretend, intend and mend."
