“Who Paid For This?“: Fans Confused By Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s Nose Job To Look “More Feminine”
Trigger warning: Munchausen syndrome by proxy, mental and physical abuse
Gypsy Rose Blanchard can add plastic surgery to her 2024 unpredictable bingo card. The former convict recently shared her post-procedure photos, planning for a personal transformation, both mentally and physically.
The Munchausen syndrome by proxy survivor reportedly underwent a cosmetic procedure on Friday (April 5), sending the first post-operation results to tabloid organization TMZ.
- Gypsy Rose Blanchard underwent rhinoplasty and septoplasty aiming for a "more feminine look".
- The surgery, done by Dr. Jeffrey J. Joseph in Louisiana, cost Gypsy around $5,000.
- Gypsy will feature in the docuseries "Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up".
The post-op photograph showcased Gypsy in a bedroom, posing in a selfie with bandages wrapping up her nose, looking content while holding onto a popsicle stick.
Sources with direct knowledge told the tabloid that the 32-year-old underwent a combination of rhinoplasty and septoplasty, performed by Dr. Jeffrey J. Joseph, a respected surgeon in Louisiana, USA.
Bored Panda has contacted the Acadian Ear, Nose, & Throat Center, where Dr Joseph works, for comment.
“We’re told the procedure went well, and Gypsy’s super stoked to see how she looks after she’s totally healed up,” TMZ reported.
Sources further informed the tabloid that the Louisiana native paid around $5,000 for the procedure and didn’t have any additional plans to go through more plastic surgery anytime soon.

On Friday, People broke the news that Gypsy was bracing herself for the procedure, as she told the publication: “I’m going through a personal transformation journey currently and that includes a physical one, too.
“Wish me luck with my surgery and watch the whole thing this summer on Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up.”
The newly single author already starred in a six-part docuseries on cable channel Lifetime back in January, but the network recently announced the premiere of Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup, TV Showsace reported on March 30.
Life After Lock Up is set to premiere on June 3 on Lifetime.
According to Gypsy’s close friend, Nadiya Vizier, her recent cosmetic enhancement was something she had been wanting for a while.
Nadiya told People: “She said she’s a bit nervous, but she’s happy it’s going to be done.
“The main thing is that she wanted a more feminine-looking nose.
“She just wants to fix it up and give it a more feminine look.”

For those who have followed Gypsy’s case, you would remember that the paroled criminal isn’t new to surgeries, as she was forced to undergo unnecessary procedures throughout her entire childhood as a result of her mother Dee Dee Blanchard’s abuse.
The former victim previously recalled that it was a surgery “to remove two salivary glands behind [her] neck” that was the most excruciating of the nonconsensual procedures.
She said back in January that she “didn’t respond very well to the anesthesia,” making the recovery process “really, really hard.”
But now, a free woman, Gypsy has been making body modifications under her own volition.
Her friend Nadiya said: “My main message is to just, people need to let her live, let her experience, if they know that she’s doing something good or wrong, let her experience that.
“Let her learn from it. I feel like in a way, people are still trying to control her.”
The makeover news comes just a week after Gypsy announced she had separated from her husband, Ryan Scott Anderson, who is featured in the upcoming Lifetime docuseries.
In the wake of her breakup, the media personality has been spotted spending quality time with her ex-fiancé, Ken Urker, who joined her in getting matching tattoos over the weekend.
Ken’s mother, Raina Williams, told People: “They’re very cool,” after confirming they’d reconnected following Gypsy and Ryan’s split.
“Ken is just being a supportive friend to her,” Raina admitted.
“She just wants to fix it up and give it a more feminine look,” a friend of Gypsy’s said about her cosmetic procedure

In Gypsy’s Lifetime docuseries The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, she revealed that she was still in contact with Ken in the weeks leading up to her 2022 wedding with Ryan, admitting to still having feelings for him, as per People.
The new internet sensation was released from prison on parole in December 2023 after spending eight years behind bars for second-degree murder in connection with the death of her mother, Dee Dee.
Gypsy was granted parole in September, with the Missouri Department of Corrections scheduling her release for December 28, three years before her release date.
She and her then-boyfriend, Nicholas “Nick” Godejohn, conspired to kill her mom in 2015 after she was subjected to painful and needless medical procedures for years.
It has since been reported that Gypsy was a victim of Munchausen by proxy, a form of abuse in which a caretaker exaggerates or induces illness in a child for attention and sympathy.
Gypsy claimed she was being mentally and physically abused and forced into yet another unnecessary medical procedure when she plotted her mother’s murder and was “desperate” to get out of that situation.
The feeling led her to ask Nick, whom she met on an online dating site, to kill Dee Dee while she waited in the bathroom of the Springfield, Missouri, home she shared with her mother.
Among the numerous illnesses that Dee Dee falsely claimed her daughter had was muscular dystrophy, which resulted in Gypsy using a wheelchair for the majority of her childhood and adolescence despite being able to walk.
Dee Dee also forced her daughter to use painful feeding tubes and made friends and family believe she had Leukemia after shaving Gypsy’s head. She would also trick doctors into diagnosing and treating different illnesses.
Gypsy’s plastic surgery announcement ignited divided responses on social media
