It is theorized that some animal species live in their own social structure, which has an alpha male, the most well-known being the alpha wolf. Alpha males usually are the strongest ones in the group, which means they win most of the battles and have more opportunities to mate with available females.
It’s proven that the human species don't have an alpha male. However, that does not stop some men from identifying as one. Even though they are the only ones who think of themselves as “the strongest” as this Reddit thread proves. In fact, people have very interesting opinions about men who claim to be “alpha males.” And let’s just say that these opinions are very different from what “alpha males” think of themselves.

That Alpha Males are a debunked concept some dude developed while studying wolves in captivity and then retracted years later when he realized his findings were wrong, and that was later extrapolated to humans by dumba**es despite the fact that our social structures and behavior is not similar to wolves or dogs. It's the equivalent of some dude saying he's the Queen Bee and actually meaning it.

Omegaverse.
Long story shortish Omegaverse is a sort of fiction genre that originated in the Supernatural fandom but mostly shows up in original Korean fiction now. The idea is that everyone has a secondary gender (alpha, omega, sometimes beta) and basically Alphas are strong and have uncontrollable lust, omegas can get pregnant (even the men!), and almost every Omegaverse fic is about some super hot Alpha getting some obnoxious Omega male pregnant.
So whenever guys are like "Hurrdurr alpha male" I'm just like "GAY KOREAN MPREG FICTION".

Dated a guy like this once. Loved Trump and Andrew Tate, referred to himself as an alpha, denied the patriarchy existed, loved to remind me how men will always be stronger/faster/more successful than women and regularly lamented about how hard he had it as a straight white male. Any bad male behaviour was written off as 'you don't know how hard it is to live with testosterone!'. Funny thing is though, he was the most insecure man-child I have ever met in my entire life. Always talked about how he'd beat the s**t out of any bloke who even dared to look at me because he used to do MMA (this extended to my male friends too), but then every time we had a confrontation with someone, guess who was nowhere to be found and wouldn't utter a peep? Dude used to get me to make his phone calls for him he was so insecure, ffs. He was 46. Pathetic.

Reminds me of my ex friend whom I described in my comment below here. He would always jump in a street fight, but in a pathetic way, like "I have to show who I am so that women will like me and think I'm cool". Dude, no woman thinks a guy who jumps in fights is cool.

The 'alpha male' concept was originally based on wolves in captivity, so it was basically like saying you understand human nature because you studied a bunch of prisoners. In reality the 'alpha's' of a pack are the parents. They take care of the pack, keeping them safe and making sure they are happy, healthy, and well fed. So that guy with the knee high socks and waistpack full of snacks making sure his kids and friends are drinking enough water and having a good time? That is the truest alpha male you will find.

This is only partially true. The alpha/beta concept does exist in biology and is real in many species. How this is practiced depends on species, environment and circumstances. We can see the behaviour in captive non related wolves, but won't see it in feral wolves. Applying these concepts of dominance to human beings is simply idiotic. The only real way to apply this to humans is in group dynamics, where an alpha will take "control" in a group as sort of a leader. Who this alpha will be depends on personality, ability to lead and on expertise. The betas in this scenario are not submissive to the alpha, but are basically constantly challenging the alpha. They have their own ideas and are usually not the alpha because they are not interested in the additional responsibility or think they lack expertise. If it turns out the alpha is useless, a beta will take over and become the new alpha. Alpha usually means moderating and coordinating the group's work.

One time I met this dude on tinder. We hit it off right away. We had so much in common. It was nice. we talked for like 2-3 weeks before we could actually meet. When we finally did we ended up getting coffee n then walked around this forest preserve,then it turned into a dinner date. We went to this semi fancy restaurant n all was good until our waiter came to grab the menus n my date noticed he was wearing black nail polish. (I think nail polish on men is sexy btw! I love a dude who is comfortable w/ himself n isn't afraid to step outside the gender Norms) the second the waiter walked away date turned to me n said "what would possess a man to paint his nails. What a little beta b***h .. see this is the problem w/ society today. Too many men aren't alpha enough. That's why civilization is going to be extinct before we know it. Men like that aren't going to be able to find 'mates' n reproduce. It's sad" I was shocked. I got up. Told my waiter to cancel my order n I just left.

I did pay for our drinks n whatever he got too. I thought that would emasculate him a bit. Lol. But then he blew up my phone n immediately turned into a "nice guy" ... it was wild. He gave me no indication that we was like this all day! We had such a good time. But any man who will call himself an alpha or who is offended by men WEARING NAIL POLISH is legit lame as f**k. I'm happily married to my best friend now. He wears nail polish every day n can even admit when another man is attractive w/out saying "no homo" afterwards. Bahahahhaa. That was a joke btw. "Alphas" love to make sure you know that they're not "homos" because being emotionally stable n confident in your sexuality is not something they value or even understand. In middle school I was friends with an "alpha male." He was a huge fan of Andrew tate and constantly talked about how amazing tate was. I made the mistake of trying to convince him that Andrew tate was a horrible misogynist and he just spewed the same nonsense about how 'men are stronger than women so that men can protect women.' Safe to say I am not friends with him anymore
