Yeah 100% it could be either gender but that person is just commenting from her perspective of guys having done crazy s**t. I think social media equally represents the crazy girls so we are good!

Taxi/Uber/etc. are a different story, these are business transactions with trackable information. And yes, people are generally good, however, if someone is planning on being bad this would be a perfect scenario to accomplish that. Why put yourself in that situation instead of insisting the first meetup be at a public place for coffee or dinner?

It's fine, most strangers are pretty trustworthy and if your gut instinct tells you it's okay, it usually is. If there is even the slightest feeling of unease you can bail out of course.
