I made this wood sculpture after installing my sculpture of Edgar Allan Poe in Boston, Ma (Poe Square, near the Common).
Gut Check is about fear, insecurity and maybe some regret. It’s kind of huge; about 130% life size. I glued blocks of Basswood together to get started. It took over 1,000 hours to complete it!
