Exhibiting art is like another form of art in and of itself. But while we're used to seeing famous works tucked in safely at museums and galleries, there are more ways we can experience them. For example, through the project 'Great Art in Ugly Rooms.'

The brainchild of Paul Kremer, it juxtaposes renowned masterpieces against unconventional and unexpected settings, like an abandoned villa or a budget home gym, challenging the conventional notion of art display.

Not to mention the space it offers for discussions on the elitism associated with the scene, showcasing how an unpretentious environment can provide a fresh perspective on art appreciation. Or would it diminish the value of the piece instead?

How it feels when it seems like the service is too slow at the restaurant.

I know this thread is taking the mick a bit, but I think it’s a bit condescending to say, “you can or can’t put an artwork in a particular space”. I like that a lot of these are grungy. Anybody should be able to appreciate beautiful things.

I'd rather be in the picture. (Norman Rockwell: Freedom from Want, 1942)

Love the juxtaposition! The dim lighting makes her gold frame glow too. Honestly I'm loving this whole collection 😂

There’s a tapestry of this in a large room in the UN building in NYC. The same room that was used by Colin Powell to announce the invasion of Iraq by the coalition forces. They’d covered up the tapestry with a white sheet. Ironic.

Starry night by Vincent van Gogh. Just makes me sing, every time, one of the most wonderful songs of all time, by Don Mc Lean. One is allowed to sing in the bathroom, or not?

Don't judge until you see how well it matches the couch and rug they've ordered.

Egon Schiele, I think. Fantastic artist, there's lots of his work in Vienna. Tragically died quite young, shortly after his wife and baby, in the big flu pandemic early in the 20th century.

Are we not going to talk about that weird person thing in the door wearing what looks like a penguin onesie?

There's something kind of oddly inspiring about this combination. I'm imagining someone doing squats trying to work out what the artist was feeling and trying to communicate in the painting.

It could be an exhibition with several Duchamp "fountains" below the paintings.

Orange skin with strawberries. Love this. Anybody know the painter?
