Google AutoDraw Instantly Transforms Your Terrible Scribbles Into Awesome Icons For Free

Tech giant Google has recently introduced one of their coolest applications to date. It’s called AutoDraw and, as its name suggests, it does the drawing for you.

Similar to the artificial intelligence algorithm seen in Quick, Draw, this app works by giving you a blank page, which you then fill with the most basic doodle. Then the software recognizes it and suggests a bunch of more sophisticated drawings by other artists who have lent their illustrations to the platform.

The process is instantaneous and best of all – completely free! So head on over to the AutoDraw website and give it a shot yourself! (h/t: demilked)

That's okay, person. We all can momentally forget about the things we actually know. And, to be honest, I also prefer the originals, mostly, but in a society of universal signs, maybe some predefinite icons are the better way to understand each other. Also, I believe some artists can actually use these icons in creative ways too.

Once I draw an elephant eaten by a snake. And Google Autodraw thought it was a hat... :-)

This is not drawing. This is a sophisticated icon search and nothing more. Im sure it makes you "feel" creative.

Somehow I thought that becoming an artist involved the hard work of practice, so as to develop one's own unique style. With AutoDraw Google simply takes over for you.

I believe original, non-filtered art is the best, no matter how shabby it is.

neat idea, however, i don't think it would be practical - since finding the exact icon you want only takes a few seconds on flaticon or thenounproject. With this, you need to draw then play dice with their search function.

This is cool, but I feel like it's taking away from people's creativity.

The car drawn above is clearly a Volvo 780, but the "auto-drawn" version looks nothing like it!
