The desire to have a family is hard-wired in most of us, and animals are no exception. A mother dog bonds with her pups through her sense of smell, which is why it can be a bad idea to separate the pups from their mother; depending on the olfactory (smell) system of the breed, some mothers might not recognize her tykes.
According to one study, it's the maternal instinct which also makes female dogs more sociable than males. Dogs were presented with three, treat-filled boxes, only two of which could be opened on their own. The female dogs were far more likely to “ask” a researcher for help than males.
This list of dogs with their puppies is our tribute to these loyal canines. Do you have any photos of pooches with their pups? Post your own, or vote on your favorite below!

Very unfortunate they chose to crop the puppy's ears. With an adult dog, you don't know who had it done, but it's clear this owner made a poor choice in doing so with this pup. Oddly, the mama's ears appear to be natural. Ear-cropping is not widely done anymore for a variety of very good reasons.

The ribbon is to teach it to leave a collar alone as well. Our breeder didn't do it, and Midas took a while to get used to the collar. The could hurt themselves if they don't learn this.

Aww, That's one of the Main reasons I didn't want my Lab girl to have puppies. Because I would have to take away her babies. And that must be heartbreaking. So we got her fixed and she is so gentle with her stuffed babies as can be. I know I should have given her the right to give birth, but there are already to many unwanted dogs in the world, So,to each there own. and it shortens females life spans. And I've wanted her for a very long time. It's been ten years now, and she's doing fine.
Unbelievable the number of people saying "stop breeding, adopt". What do you want? The extinction of pure breeds so only strays are on the market? Then what, you'll want strays to be neutered too because there will too much in your opinion. And then you'll want the same with another species, and another and another until there is only humans left... Wait, why not neutering humans too, they are overpopulating our planet after all. Nice, now everything and everyone is neutered, how amazing is that! *sarcasm OFF*
By the way, I do adoption I never got an animal from anywhere else than nature (yeah people are shithead and they abandon animals in nature sadly) or shelters. But the "stop breeding, adopt" thing is, in my opinion, getting old and makes me angry, how humans dare to say which animals can reproduce and which ones can't when they are themselves unable to control their own reproduction rate and overpopulate the planet selfishly? Seriously people, just appreciate the nice pictures and let the owners of the animals do whatever they want.
