Big events can certainly be a lot of fun, but unfortunately, there are also plenty of issues that usually go hand in hand with them, with the most relevant one being the bathroom situation.

When the break in the program finally hits, and everybody rushes to relieve themselves, the lack of space is inevitable. As men take care of their business and free up space quicker, it’s understandable that some women choose to go there instead of waiting in a queue. However, as one Redditor shared, the issue arises when, despite being visitors, some ladies start applying their own rules and shame men for using urinals with them around. Scroll down to find out what exactly went down!

Since the line at the women’s restroom was unbearably long, some women were using men’s cubicles, so the guy went and did his business discreetly at the urinal

When he came back out, a woman approached him and started shaming him for exposing himself with women around, with which his girlfriend partially agreed

The OP accompanied his girlfriend to a big concert, which women mostly attended. When, after a while, he decided to go to the bathroom, the waiting lines were huge. Since, as usual, the queue to the women’s restroom was significantly bigger, some ladies opted to go to the men’s bathroom instead.

The guy waited in line, got in, took care of his business at the urinal, and got out without taking up space. But when he did and met back up with his girlfriend, another woman came over and started verbally bashing him, calling him a pervert and sex pest for exposing himself to women, adding that he should’ve waited for a stall to open up.

When the woman walked away, the guy explained to his girlfriend that he did it pretty discreetly and didn’t actually expose himself to anyone. Yet, she didn’t seem happy about it, replying that while she wouldn’t break up with him over something like this, she viewed it as inconsiderate and unthoughtful, as he wasn’t bursting and could’ve waited.

The commenters, both men and women, unanimously sided with the OP. Not only did they agree that there was nothing wrong with using a urinal in a men’s bathroom with women around, as it was, after all, a men’s bathroom, but they also said that the man’s girlfriend’s position seemed like a red flag and he should reconsider whether it’s worth keeping going.

But if we look around, the situation in our story was rather tame compared to some other recent happenings concerning bathrooms at big events. For example, some of the most recent incidents that occurred at Taylor Swift’s concert in Atlanta left a couple of female fans ejected from the concert for using the men’s bathroom, according to Channel Nine.

The two women were outraged, as they not only had spent 15 hours in the queue for the tickets that cost hundreds of dollars, but also had to drive for hours to the concert venue, all to get kicked out and banned from attending the said venue again, despite plenty of other women also using the men’s bathroom as the line to the women’s toilets was extremely long.

While they also met one other girl with Crohn’s disease who was ejected despite having a medical pass saying she could not wait, there were plenty of contrasting accounts from other women, stating that some attendants were actually ushering them into the men’s bathroom, telling them where to wait and which stall to go into.

Another spectacle came from Taylor Swift’s other concert, this time in Texas. Chuck Arnold from the New York Post wrote about a viral video where a confused man actually went out of the men’s bathroom to make sure that he was really where he was supposed to be as it was completely filled with women.

Some people commenting under it shared similar experiences where, in the men’s bathrooms filled with women, men were shamed for just coming inside, let alone relieving themselves in a urinal. There were also some unnecessarily malicious commenters, too, talking about how they try to prevent women from using men’s restrooms by intentionally aiming everywhere but the bowl.

So, in the end, it’s quite obvious that in these situations, both men and women can be quite toxic. While there is undeniably a bigger problem that should be addressed by the people planning the event venues and the concerts in them, these changes won’t happen overnight. So, for the moment, let’s try to understand each other’s position by not being mad at ladies for using men’s bathrooms and not shaming men for using them at the same time.

One of the reasons why there's not a big line for men's urinals is the use of these aforementioned urinals. If the women want men to also use the cubicle, there's going to be no difference between the men's and women's restrooms, right? BTAIM, the two women complaining are idjits. Hello, they're 'trespassing', so they can't complain.

At one tourist spot I visited, there was one bathroom, unisex, cubicles only. The only complaints were from two men who hated waiting in line - which amused the women.

This is the dumbest freaking thing for anyone to get upset about. No one saw the guy's body because he didn't turn around and expose anything, just like no one else was doing I assume. I guess he doesn't have the same right to pee like everyone else just because "other people" were in there.

Speaking as a woman, I think that the random woman and girlfriend are both out of line here. The woman was in the MEN'S restroom, so there was a very good chance that a man was going to use it. If she didn't want to share a bathroom with a man, she should have waited to use the women's. I went into the wrong restroom once, I didn't get mad at the men for being in their restroom.

NTA...the problem here is it was MEN's bathroom being used by WOMEN. The lady who yelled at you is an idiot and I think she might be the perv here. The GF is a bigger idiot and immature as stuff to say she looks at you differently because you used the MEN bathroom. Women using the MENs bathroom risk...*gasp* a MAN using the urinal in the MENs bathroom. The inconsiderate ones here are the WOMEN, not you.

Someone complained to staff in a club I was in when a man dared to p**s in the gents with women in there. Bouncers kicked all the women out the men's and told them to just suck it up and queue. I've also seen men in pubs tell women to get out or they'll report them for perving. That woman is an idiot, as is OP's GF.

Honestly he should have gone like Shoresy... How entitled do you have to be to get upset when you're the one trespassing. I'm sure both the nosy woman and the girlfriend would have been horrified if the guy even thought of using the cubical in the ladies because the queue was shorter. Yet it's not only fine for women to use the gents, the guys aren't even allowed to use it while they're in there either? images-65e...75a151.jpg images-65e0a5d75a151.jpg

Absolutely ridiculous. If you need to use the men's because the women's line is a mile long, so be it, but you don't get to dictate what men are doing in there. YOU are choosing to enter THEIR space, get over it. I have seen this almost cause a fight because some guy was barring other men from using the bathroom because a woman was in the stall. If you don't want to potentially see dıck, don't go in there. And don't get mad if a guy ever has to use the lady's for the same reason because I'd rather they use the "wrong" toilet than just go outside somewhere.

Correct me if I'm wrong (I've never seen a urinal in use outside of movies/TV), but isn't it pretty difficult to see a guy's penis when he's using a urinal unless you're *trying* to see it? His back is to the room, he stands pretty close up to it so as not to urinate on the floor (I hope they do, anyway), plus the hand covers a lot of the shaft, yeah? And it's a flaccid pe‍nis at that, which means it's only going to be a little thing, not a po‍rn-movie extravaganza of a joh‍nso‍n. Some people need to get over themselves & get a life. Nudity isn't inherently sexual.

It’s very easy to see a penis at a urinal, so long as you lie down on the floor and scoot along on your back to find the optimum position. I respect the woman for going to such effort in her penis-seeking ambitions.

I would love to see them loosing their s**t over "public" urinals. I don't know if they're common in US, but where i live, if there's big outdoor festival or fair, or something, there usually are portapotties... And right next to them can be this 4 walls urinals for men, that just stand on an open space. Have to say it takes some balls (pun intended) to use them, but there are always men confident enough to take a leak....

I have, in the past, used the gents when there was a huge queue for the ladies. I was always concerned that men might find it embarassing if they were using the urinals and a woman came in. Never would have occurred to me to insist that they mustn't. Cos that's the gents. It's me that was in the wrong toilet.

You have to wonder how she didn't realise the irony and stupidity of her accusation when she was the one in the "wring" bathroom... were they supposed to empty it for her? How would he know that there was a chick in the cubicle anyway? His gf is a flag, get shot of her.

As a woman, as a feminist, as a person who happened to go man's restrooms in life, I'd like to say to the two women, shut the f**k up. Let the man pee! And don't look at IT, for god's sake! And then I'll stop here 'cause I'd like to add many not much classy things.

Most shows I've been to have varied in facilities. Discretion is the guiding principle. I think the ladies may have been a little overzealous in their declaration and they could have messed up this guys life over nonsense. Best to err on the side of caution and hold it if you can.

The women using the wrong bathroom are probably the same people that scream about trans people using bathrooms.

I have, in the past, used the gents when there was a huge queue for the ladies. I was always concerned that men might find it embarassing if they were using the urinals and a woman came in. Never would have occurred to me to insist that they mustn't. Cos that's the gents. It's me that was in the wrong toilet.

I would've yelled at the random pervert lady. Go use your bathroom bithc! Once when I was at the club, using the bathroom, some girls came in, lifted up their skirts and peed in the urinal. Now that was nasty

Women can use urinals too if they're limber enough. Just sayin'...🤪

Women I ran with in my youth would have used the urnals, too.
