It's nice however I hope she had a private room. If my brother had been sharing her room he'd be decidedly more uncomfortable than when he came in. Severe allergies and serious asthma. I LOVE animals a lot but they do not belong inside of the hospital. Outside in a garden area or something - OK - but they are not equivalent to humans in the "oh I don't like children" department. You cannot equate animals and humans although I tend to like animals more :-) Animals have fur that sheds everywhere, dander that gets everywhere and it's just not OK for people who are ill. Especially with breathing disorders.

Why add unnecessary risk. Also you'll do well to look at how infections like MRSA are spread in hospitals. What you've stated is inaccurate.

Hospitals that allow pets still have rules to mitigate risk to patients.

So we can't allow any living person in the hospital. Because of the risk. And yes, some hospitals allows pets. Are they all dumb, according to your answers? Especially in the USA, where you can go to the court because of bringing patient "to unnecessary risky situation".

Not to mention complete disregard for other patients in the hospital. Hospitals are public areas, better to use FaceTime or equivalent.

Staphylococcus can be normally spread by any human. One sneeze - and it's outside. Risk is everywhere. You can't sanitize a whole person inside and outside.That's why hospital staff need to clean areas. And to make it DEADLY enough, you need a lot of neglect. Not realistic in the hospital, I think. Speaking about C. difficile infection - the same thing.

About disregard - somebody do not like dogs, cats, somebody do not like kids and elderly people. Person with broken arm may be uncomfortable to see someone with eyes infection. You can't totally avoid things that you do not like, because you live in the society.

You cannot vaccinate against The diseases I originally mentioned. They're in every hospital and increasingly difficult to treat. Just stop.

According to your posts, hospital staff can do nothing, when person with a flu arrived to them? Such diseases are easily spread by airborne droplets, you know. I agree about _reasonable limitations_. That's why I especially mentioned vacconation, anti-worm treatment etc. Of course you can't bring a stray dog to the hospital. But let's be honest with each other - a homeless tramp person can make a much more troubles in that case.

Besides, homeless tramp persons are not nearly as fun in a hospital and therefore much less likely to be coming in to cheer people up. Just surmising. JK :-)
