Meet Ginger, A Scared Security Dog From Zambia Who Became A World Traveler
Ginger was born in Zambia and was a security dog in a not very nice place (her sister had been beaten to death). She was so scared all the time and used to hide under the cars on the property.
One day, in April, her luck changed drastically. She was rescued by two women who were traveling around Africa living in a Landcruiser.
Ginger went from security dog in Zambia to a world traveler living the adventure every day. She has traveled even more than a lot of people. She has been in Malawi, Zambia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe, in National Parks, trekked mountains, has seen elephants through the window, heard lions roar, paddle boarding in lakes, seen chimpanzees, been in boats,…. and this is still the beginning of their adventure.
Given the conditions of the African dogs, they are starting a project called The Dziko Project to help all the dogs in need here in Africa. Rescuing dogs, going to local schools and teaching the kids about dogs and how to treat them, they even sponsor kids of families who can not afford to send their kids to school, and always with Ginger.
They are totally wild, still don’t have plans and breathe every day as it would be their last. Now they can not imagine any other way to live.
“Being wild and free as much as we can and, of course, trying to make a difference wherever we are.”

Load More Replies...I've always felt so bad about poor doggies tied up just to guard someone's property and not being loved. For instance, yesterday I saw an Alabai (Central Asian sheep dog) locked in a small cage outside one property. It's a breed created to walk for miles everyday, yet that pooch simply sat there, in his 130+ lbs glory, looking sadly at us. They probably let him out to patrol in the night, but some dogs are really not that lucky.
You should call the police. Animal cruelty should not be allowed. Maybe you could get the dog away from people who would do such a thing as lock a dog up like that.
Load More Replies...Just perfect, i'm so happy you gave this beautiful dog the life she deserves, on behalf of all dogs and animal lovers everywhere thank you, much love to you all, Ginger looks so happy, it makes my cold heart warm again.
I'm glad Ginger's happy now. Sadly, this is an issue pretty much everywhere. My sister recently got a German Shepherd from her SIL that was her former fiance's before he got ill. Learned the hard way that for some unknown reason the fiance had been trying to make him a guard dog by abusing him (hitting and shocks) and keeping him locked in a crate for 4+ months. He's only now starting to adjust and act like a normal dog but understandably doesn't do well with crates and she's worried how he'll handle having kids in the house. I will never understand people who abuse animals.
oh no that is super sad.... I can imagine. Sending my best wishes your sister's dog. He will kind of be a "normal" dog again, not just that, even more special.

Thank you so much for your beautiful comment! <3

Such a beautiful dog, who'll now know nothing but love. When you go back to your own country, hopefully Ginger will get to go to and have many more adventures wherever he goes.
Thanks for your comment, yes, Ging is actually in Barcelona now with me freaking out and at the same time loving it! hahaha
