Person Asks “What’s Something You’d Love Getting As A Gift But No One Considers Giving You Because You’re An Adult?”, 30 Folks Deliver
Getting gifts is awesome.
As a kid, or as an adult, doesn’t matter, you get a gift and it makes you feel good and it gives you stuff to do with that gift afterwards.
But—there’s a huge but—for some reason, people adjust to your age when it comes to getting you a gift. And while you can’t blame them for wanting to get you the perfect gift appropriate to who you are as a person, some people don’t grow out of LEGOs and art supplies. In fact, there is nothing to grow out of, those are legit timeless gifts. Gifts that we still want.
The lovely people of Reddit have been sharing the gifts they wish they would still get, even as adults, but most deem gifts for children. And, believe you me, them sharing gift ideas will quite likely make you want them too.
Bored Panda has collected the best answers from the now-viral post, which accumulated over 54,200 upvotes and over 100 Reddit awards, and created a curated list below. So vote and comment on the gifts you’d love to get yourself, and if you can’t find them in the list, why not leave us a comment with what you wish you still got for [insert occasion here] in the comment section below!

I got a call from a friend, she said it's a birthday and we should all come over. I got the date/time and event correct, but not whose birthday it was, although I was confident it was for a kid. Why else would she say, bring the whole family?
We show up and I'm frankly concerned by all the craft beer with bows and balloons on it. I set our gift bag down and we join the party. Shortly after, her husband shouts with joy and wants to know who got him the big Lego set.
Well, that was me, and, uh.... You're welcome.
So, my answer is Legos. Adults want Legos.
Lego Star Wars, Lego City, just give me LEGO
Load More Replies...These sets are actually meant for adults I think. I would like the flower bouquet.
Load More Replies...As someone who currently has 30+ Harry Potter Lego sets (F56) I cannot agree with this enough!
I have most of the newer HP sets as well! They're so much fun to build!
Load More Replies...I’m 45 and I absolutely love Lego. As a kid I desperately wanted the airport set but my parents couldn’t afford it. Now I get Lego every birthday and Christmas (and buy it myself sometimes). Side note…I own three different Lego airports so the transport links for my mini figs are good! :)
For me, Play mobile. I still want the house and all the furniture and stuff and make a set up.
Which one? I hate stereotypes, but still love the princessy furniture. But the others are cool too. Snd I got my daughter the house which you can close up like a suitcase and carry it around. So cool
Load More Replies...
I'd like to get a birthday or Christmas gift that I had no hand in planning or acquiring. Like, a wrapped package that I genuinely have no idea what is inside.
Not necessarily, my brother used to literally send my mom the serial numbers of the exact Lego train parts he wanted. And then pretended to be surprised.
Load More Replies...Finally got to experience this again once my daughter reached adulthood and got a full-time job
My husband didn't do this. However for 30 days woke me up randomly with little treasures he knew I would love. It was super special. And made me feel important to him. It always does. I just have a hard time portraying that tk him.
Gifts should ALWAYS be something you wouldn’t buy for yourself IMO. Not something you need, never kitchen stuff (unless it’s like the ice cream maker I asked for (and got) for Xmas)
I actually would rather people not buy me gifts, because 9/10 it's something I don't need, don't want, and will just take up closet space in my tiny apartment. Every gift I've been given in the last decade was something completely not my style. I don't drink wine, EVER, got an electric wine opener for Christmas. Gifts just remind me of how little anyone knows me or pays attention.
Load More Replies...I've been getting mine in pillow cases for the last 6 years. Naturally I know what's inside. Gotten knife, butter knife, onions, picture frames, lighters, toe nail clippers.....

Those sneakers that light up whenever you take a step

I want these to be standard Olympic uniform, just imagine Usain Bolt in light up shoes.
I got my adult daughter two pairs but they both stopped working so quickly. I think they should be standard for night time visibility.
and here, I just put bicycle tire lights on my wheelchair wheels for the same reason and my mother called me a childish moron.
Load More Replies...Have each athlete in the finals wearing a different color turn the lights down in the stadium would make a 10 second race more entertaining.
LA gear went bankrupt, I believe. I used to buy my training shoes from there.

Stickers. I won't put them on anything and you'll never see it again once you've gifted it to me but it will remain forever a highly cherished gift.
I've finally decided where to put the stickers I got for Xmas. I'm very excited. I'm also 55.
Why are you leaving us hanging??? WHERE? Do tell!!!
Load More Replies...My theater teacher lets us pick out a sticker at the beginning of class every day, and we get to keep it if we’re good :)
I would 💯 do this as a supervisor at work! 😂 (I'm in healthcare)
Load More Replies...I just played with stickers the other day, just to make sure they are still fun at 55! (They are!)
I have flamingo stickers, and I save them for special occasions. Except for the puffy ones that go on my mayonnaise in the office fridge
I love stickers too! For years I was so sad to have lost my childhood sticker book as an adult somewhere in a move, and last year it occurred to me that I could get another sticker book and start a search for my old favorites! I can't believe how many 80's stickers are still out there
48 here. I will slap a sticker anywhere I please, cause I'm grown. Dryer, fridge, inside of cabinets, phone. Anywhere it fits
I also LOVE stickers. If you want a place to put them as an adult, buy the biggest frame you can... a cheap Walmart one with plastic and not glass is perfectly okay. Stick them all on that. Gives you a place to put them and you can hang it wherever you'd like. When it's full you can get another. It's a great use for the stickers, a way to keep the memories, a creative conversation piece AND it's very easy to take with you wherever you might move. Mine are in the guest bathroom. I'm looking forward to hanging them at the nursing home I'm realistically going to end up in.
I figured this out after years of keeping them with nowhere to put them. I also do the same with concert tickets, theater programs, movie stubs for movies I particularly enjoyed and such. I'm in my early 40s now and they've become a neat way to use them instead of putting them in a scrapbook that almost no one would see otherwise.
Load More Replies...My husband loves Minions and he loves colour forms. Every holiday and season change, I find Minion colour forms on mirrors, appliances, on my mobile, the lap top.....
Goodness, I forgot about ColorForms! I always loved those.

An invite to go out for ice cream cones
FireITGuy replied:
A former team I worked on had an ice cream social day, and the only rule was you ABSOLUTELY couldn't tell the new people ahead of time.
It was one of the coolest things to just watch new employee's process of confusion turning into pure joy when everyone in the office just got up at once to leave and we got to convince the new employees that yes, we were really all going to get ice cream on company time.
I miss that job. Pay was [horse dung], but they really did know how to make a workplace enjoyable.
I am 40 years old and I still invite my friends to eat pancakes, waffles or milkshakes! We love do it !
Man that's what I really need and want is a milkshake haven't had one in years I'm 77 goin on 12!
Load More Replies...I had an employer who monthly would hire out an ice cream truck for all of us employees on a random Friday. We would all be working then hear the trucks music and stop our work to all go line up for free ice cream. That and all the goodies, bagles doughnuts etc every Friday made working there so fun
awww... we had something similar, in summer everyday at around 3pm one of us 50 Employees went to the refrigerator and took out packs of ice-cream to walk around the workplace and offer everyone ice-cream. This 15-minute break where everyone munched on their icecream always was a joy.
Wish your old job could pay more. It's healthier to be happy at work then to make a ton of money. Happiness makes your life easier. I also know sometimes you need more money.
I'm 31 and have invited friends and had dates with my partner to get snow cones!
I'm in a singing group (12 members) that rehearses twice a week on the evenings. But there are times we need an extra rehearsal, or because of members having other things to do we have to move a weeknight rehearsal to saturday afternoon. And then on saturday afternoon.... when the icecream truck comes around it's time for a break. 🍦🤗 More than half of the group is 60+.
I'm 40 and invite my two small kids out for ice cream once a week and i love ice cream at least as much as they do.
Board games, puzzles. I gift them a lot hoping someone will return the favor
Starcraft: The Board Game https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/22827/starcraft-board-game
Load More Replies...Do everyone a favor: think a bit further than Monopoly or Trivial Pursuit. There are thousands of BG:s that are more fun to play, for every theme or interest you can imagine.
My hubs and I put board games on our wedding registry. We already had a fully kitted house, so we asked for fun things we’d use. Got nothing but cash from fam, as apparently BGs are “childish junk”. Two awesome friends, who we do board game days with, were the only sympathetic guests. We must have 50 different board games now. XD
board games are so fun though! what are your favorites?
Load More Replies...I'm glad I have a nerdy family and we all give each other games for gifts! The year they came out with the Oregon Trail game we ended up with five copies that my husband and I and my brother and SIL all gave to each other.
I love puzzles too of course! I've got one of those exit puzzles 2 years ago but had no time or space yet to do it
Load More Replies...That's usually what I ask for birthday and Christmas. Though I need to stop asking for puzzles as I have a backlog of 6 big ones.
No one has given me an Easter egg in years. I love Easter eggs, and make sure my kids and ex-wife are sorted each year. But no one ever gets me one in return.
I felt the same way about not getting a Christmas stocking any longer - not since childhood. My best friend gave me one recently, filled with goodies, it was wonderful.
The stocking was always my favorite part. Keep the presents. I just want the stocking!
Load More Replies...Aww I get my husband and daughter all kinds of goodies on Easter. I'm the one that doesn't get anything but I buy myself my favorite coconut egg and malt eggs
Oh god, those coconut eggs...my demise. My delicious, delicious demise.
Load More Replies...My mom still hides Easter eggs at her house for my brother and I to find every year. We are both a solid 20+ years into adulthood. Grandkids can't participate. Significant others can't participate. Every/anyone is welcome to attend and laugh at us.
Every year my Partner really enjoys to search the hidden eggs. Sometimes i give him small notes or riddles to find them. So much fun for both of us. And today He is blocking the kitchen to make me something sweet with white chocolate because of a japanese Tradition, although neither of us is from or live in Japan.
Same here. I try every year to make sure that my husband, our 2 adult children and their significant others get Easter baskets, Christmas stockings, Valentine's and Halloween bags, etc., but I very rarely get anything from any of them. Although I did get flowers and candy from my husband for Valentine's day this year, so I guess he's learning finally...(we will have been married 39 years in September, so it took him awhile, lol...)
I used to love Cadbury's cream eggs but since they were bought out by an American firm the recipe changed probably to cut costs and they are disgusting.

Roller Skates
southpacshoe replied:
I had a bucket list item of joining a roller derby league but I was past 40 and everyone I talked to said “Don’t do it ..you’ll get hurt”. Eventually, I didn’t tell anyone and went and tried out. I played for 4 years as a blocker and it is strangely one of the things that I am really most proud of. Go get the roller skates.
i have a friend who did roller derby and loved it. She messed up her knee for life, but she loved it while it lasted.
My grams was on a roller derby team. I found out by accident by going to a derby with a bunch of coworkers. I stood up and yelled, OMG, its my grams!!! She heard me, looked up, saw me, and she was thrown to the ground. My dad hosted dinner and she came in limping a bit. She gave me death glares not to say anything. She was in her 50's.
I loved watching Roller Derby growing up! I bet you were awesome!
Former derby girl here....most of us were past our twenties in all the teams I skated with. Average age seemed to be 38 to 45.
I did derby for a few years in my early 20's. Most ladies were 35-45 plus with young children at home. I never understood how they were able to come out 2-3 times a week to practice!
Bought roller skates 2 days ago and I kinda can go forward now ! I pretty much f*cked up my wrist because I've fallen pretty badly on my butt but I learned on my own and I'm really proud of it :D

It's fun for a while because you are limited on how many you can make. Limited tools.
Load More Replies...I got one too 😂 I’m 34 and needed to relive the magic - 10/10 recommend
One year I made a whole heap of spirograph patterns which I made into blank cards. 15 years later I still have heaps!
I guess it was just me but **** those things. They always slid out of the groove so your circle pattern got messed up.
I bought one at Walgreen's on the day I went into quarantine in 2020. I had always wanted one as a kid, so on my way home I stopped for last minute "entertain myself at home for an indeterminate amount of time" supplies. It was SUCH a let down.
Load More Replies...I used to have one of these! It came with several different colored pens.
I (61) was longing for one, and finally bought one a couple of years ago. Turned out to be a big disappointment. Next time I will splurge and get a pricier and fancier one.
Art kits. Used to get them almost every year as a kid. When I started going to college, the kits stopped coming.
I got a new box of crayons every year to start school - all the way through college. :)
I bought myself the giant Crayola crayon set with the round, plastic holder. I was so sad when my mom stole it for my nephew to use. :( I don’t care if I was 30.
Load More Replies...Me to not an artist but can color inside the lines - have a adult cat coloring book need supplies!
Our sons are in their 30's and my husband still get crayola in their stockings and easter basket. One year I thought they were too olde for such things. So the day after Christmas I find myself shopping for 4 sets if crayola because santa didn't leave any in their stockings. 🤨🙄
Yes! I didn't have anything creative going on in my mind until after 50. I was too busy trying to sort out life. Now, I think often of something creative I would like to do. I loved when the adult coloring books came out. I had markers, colored pencils, the biggest box of crayons you could buy, etc.!
My bonus sister is in her final year of clinical rotations now, but a couple of years ago, still in med school, I bought her a couple of cats coloring books and a colored pencil set that you could dip in water for watercolors! She *loved* it.
I don't like the kits. Only because I don't like the media that are in kits.
12pk of playdough, the ultimate 150 crayola crayon set, the one with the sharpener and some drawing paper. I turn into an eight year old!
I have eaten it as a kid. It wasn’t bad. Just a little salty.
Load More Replies...It's the ingredients in it, because flour and salt can start to smell funky as it ages. I think it's vanilla or cream of tartar?
My absolutely favorite smell of all time!! Childhood memories come rushing back...Lol
My husband and I are both 33, our roommate is 31. Husband got us both a handful of mini playdough pots for Christmas and we both went mad with joy 😁
Play-doh is great for anxiety! I have a huge collection and pick the color based on my mood.
Would rather have a lot of real dough and maybe I could get all I wanted!

Plushies. Give me all the plushies.
eggcracked2wice replied:
The only reason I, a 26 year old guy, would not like to receive plushies is that I already have an unacceptable quantity.
Plushies !!! My 7 year old son and I both have a giant panda comforter (the ones from Ikea!)
Honestly, if you're an adult who wants plushies or other toys... why not? So long as you don't let it get out of control, go for it. Buy that T-Rex action figure you always wanted as a child. Buy the teddy bear filling you full of warm, fuzzy feelings. There's no rule saying you can't. Anyone who doesn't like it is free to live their lives without the simple joy that a toy can bring (yes, I have a fair few of my own. Don't care what anyone else thinks, they make me happy).
Load More Replies...We have squishmallows and they are glorious! I buy them for my kids (me) whenever I see them. I get a jolt whenever I see them.
My boyfriend gets mad at me when I buy plushies. He thinks I have too many. I don't think I have enough
That's me. Still need an idea for a how to put my giant headed Chewbacca.
I was not aware that there was an unacceptable quantity of plushies.
Remote controlled cars, planes or helicopters. They were fun when I was 8 and they are even more fun now
Oh yeah, so much better than 40 years ago. Advancements in battery and radio technology have made it so much easier to get into it and less of a kick in the bank account. Only thing missing now is time to play with them.
I got my husband one of those big racetracks with the remote control cars. He always wanted one but his family couldn't afford much beyond necessities when he was a kid. He loved it and gets it all set up several times a year. Now that we have kids he says he gets it out for them but he's definitely the one that's most excited about it. One of the best gifts I ever bought! 😁
My FIL is really into RC planes now as an adult. He is the geekiest grandpa.
I think my choice would be a helicopter - just to annoy the neighbors!
Legit anything that glows in the dark. I think it’s so fun but since I’m grown I get basic non-glowy stuff
A few years ago, I bought a tiny, glow in the dark cat and have never once regretted that purchase.
I need a tiny glow in the dark cat in my life! Links please!
Load More Replies...Got loads of glow-in-the-dark stuff, love it! I even have special paint that glows in the dark and I put it everywhere to make little stars! (yes and I am an adult)
I bought several packs of glow in the dark stars some 20 years back and they have already moved twice with me. I always glue them to the ceiling in my bedroom.
Load More Replies...Put glow sticks in your bath, add a bit of milk or cornstarch, turn off the lights the entire tub glows and it is amazing!
Glow in the dark and light-up stuff is awesome. I got a pair of spherical earrings that have little fluffy clouds in them. I'd never have the occasion to wear them and the metal hooks almost certainly have nickel in them (which I'm allergic to), so I hung them up beside my bed on a little metal drawer set, just to enjoy looking at them. Imagine my delight when I found out they glow in the dark too! Wasn't mentioned in the listing, but totally welcome.
A couple of years ago I (61) bought a bottle of Glow-In-The-Dark paint and dabbed a couple of items around my bed: slippers, radio, lightswitch, electrical surge protector, etc. Very practical.

I gave my English teacher a bag of candy cause of a joke he had made about "replying to emails with free candy as subject" and this man was as stoked as a 6 year old
Penny candy love it but seems to be unavailable except when the fair comes to town!
A trip to Legoland or Build a bear. Always wanted to go to both places, but never got to.
Every Easter, I take my husband and my 3 full grown sons to build a bear to get a new bear. Nearly a 30 year tradition that now involves grand sons
Tell me you're broke without telling me you're broke...I'll go first. This is the first time I've heard of Lego Land. Where is it?
Uh, that's actually at Disney World in Orlando. (I live a couple miles away)
That's not a picture of Lego land that's downtown Disney aka Disney springs
My daughter was the first of her friends to reach 18 (uk legal age to drink) so couldn't go clubbing with them so she had a build the bear party and they all had a great time. She went clubbing later it's her older sister and her friends!
I took my nieces to build a bear when they were little and SO wanted to make one too, still do almost 20 yrs later.
I am absolutely craving a trip to a park with a playground in it so I can ride the swings. Swings were a happy place for me as a child. I don't drive; and can't afford ride services. I always got eye rolls
Swings are awesome and everybody should use them, regardless of their age. And those zip line swings are still one of my favourites, when a playground has one, I’m gonna ride it.
Yeah but my butt is a lot bigger now and the last couple times I was on a swing for a long time those metal hitches left bruises. I want an adult swing!

Don't even care about it...you go swing till your heart's content!
A super soaker with the LATEST super soaker technology!
My birthday is in August, northern hemisphere, so I would put it to use straight away.
When I was 35, I went to my nephew's 9th birthday party and they had a super soaker/water balloon fight. I was in the middle of the melee, having a blast. My mother and other guests looked at me askance, but the hell with them! My inner kid will prevail. I'd do it again today.
you, my friend, are 100% the cool aunt/uncle. i bet those kids look forward to seeing you at every family gathering.
Load More Replies...We are actually doing super-soakers for all adults and kids this year for Easter, its going to be better then an egg hunt.
Family reunion time, after about 20 years of not having one; the best part? All of the brothers and sisters and their signif others, all the cousins and their sons, and all the kids and grandkids getting into a massive water balloon fight that lasted a couple of hours. Our elders were simultaneously amazed, confused and absolutely blind-sided!
I was in the Navy, years ago now, the ship in the yard for refit, and had to confiscate a really neat super soaker gun. 25 30 foot range. Idea was he'd get it back when he could take it right off the ship. Well we started security drills as we began to get operational again. I got guys permission to use it for that, and boy was it embarrassing for these young guys to get it right in the chest or leg. Everyone knew they hadn't been careful. I almost went out and bought one after that.
I wished for several water guns a few years ago (when I was 18) the person in the store was distraught. but I like water guns and they come in handy for cosplay
Me too I would annoy the whole neighborhood - probably end up in unneeded therapy!

I (45m) have a onesie that is a prized possession. My sister gifted it to ke for Christmas! It's soft, fuzzy, and camouflage inside and out and is my absolute favorite thing to sleep and lounge around in. Go get that onesie guys. Definitely not something that should only be for kids. Even Walmart sells them for men and women not just children.
My grandma wanted Christmas jammies one year, so I picked out the most garishly red patterned onesie I could find for her. She liked it.
An original Polly Pocket! They were so well made and I just love how perfectly miniature everything was.
As a kid I used to pretend that my Polly Pockets were my Barbie's Barbies 😁

I bought my daughter all the Polly pocket sets.( They were made so nice back then) .she loved them as a little girl. When she was older she gave them to her little cousin . when her cousin grew up she gave them back to my daughter.. Now my granddaughter has them...
Yes!! The newer Polly pocket is NOT Polly pocket. She-- and her home-- could fit in your pocket. Hence the name. Now she's just another doll.
-A lite brite. I bought one for my 5 year old son for Xmas so i could use it and he loves it. It makes me so happy.
-Any kind of gimmicky candy or treats/cookies. I love that stuff.
-Rainbow brite or cabbage patch kid stuff. I love it and will snatch up anything i find at a thrift store. Actually I'm currently working on restoring 5 thrifted cabbage patch kid and my own childhood one this weekend.
That's a lite Brite??? Bro those are so cool!! They've kinda always been past my time so I only really saw them in museum play places n stuff when I was younger, but I adores all the things like that. Guess I never really thought of owning one lol

A few Nancy Drew books. My parents didn’t have money for books. The small Catholic school library offered books on saints, US presidents and their wives. The public library wasn’t in walking distance.
I lied when Susan Sample, a classmate, accused me of befriending her for the “sleuth’s” books.
55 years later, I’ll fess up; yes, I preferred my time with Nancy more than you.
Nancy Drew, Trixie Belden, The hardy Boys and Maggie Muggins and any others you would like to toss in!
Sometimes I like to go along with Nancy Drew and solve a great mystery. I like the ones that have the yellow covers. I just wish there was a book in which Ned and Nancy get married
Happy Hollisters... Have friends keeping an eye out any time they go to used book stores.
Rick Brant, The Hardy Boys, and Nancy Drew were some of my favorite stories growing up.
My favorite book series has always been "Goosebumps " by R.L. Stein. Little thrill, a little scare and a whole lot of fun.

I'm 57 and one of my most prized possessions is an 18" all white Winnie The Pooh Bear. You are never to old for a furry friend.
I joined the Navy at 20, night before I left I got my gf at the time a stuffed giraffe in a sailor uniform from build-a-bear, because giraffes are her favorite animal and she could snuggle with that little sailor while I was in bootcamp. That relationship didn't work out, but we're still in touch and she said it ended up becoming her daughters favorite stuffed toy, so I thought that was cute

A full laser tag set with at least four guns

There’s a brand called Recoil that’s very similar to laser tag, and you use your phone to join a game and put it on your gun. Then if you’re outside it’ll show a map and you can radio teammates and stuff. Pretty cool.
This would be nice but I would really like to do the paintball thing!
I bought my son a 4 player laser tag set off Amazon. It's not the greatest but it works well and keep the whole family occupied.

Heelies
drawerofcircles replied:
My husband got me a pair for my birthday this past year. I’m still working on my uncoordinated balance. But I love shuffling around the basement!
I have always wanted a pair of Heelies and I finally bought myself a pair.. I was so excited, went out back and put them on, almost died, and now they're in a storage bin in the closet. One day I'll try again. One day...
Got a pair for my grandson when he was nine. He almost broke his ankle but refused to stop playing with them
I feel old since I had the version that had the manual push buttons to pop the wheels in and out. And they also weighed a lot and your ankles were hurting by the end of the day.
I had wanted Heelys when they were first released in 2000 but was "too old." This year I was given a gift card for Christmas and bought Heelys. I work in a school and wear them through the halls. We now have a Heely club with about 10 kids joining me. Heelys have been an absolute game changer to this ridiculous school year!
I've been asking for a pair for years... I'm almost 18 and I still need these dang shoes
I'm 53 and my partner buys me action figures constantly. I would have loved all the superhero shit that's available today when I was a kid so he gets it for me now.
Oh that's great ! I love figurines (Lego, funko or others), I have a few (but never too many!)

I'd like some of them pills that turn into dino-sponges when you put them in water.
HugeTheWall replied:
This was peak bath time at the grandparents, along with those bath crayons! I just realized why I don't care about adult baths. Nothing can live up to those sponge pills.
They're illegal in Europe now. Too many unsupervised kids put them in their mouths and suffocated :(
There have been a few incidents here in the U.S. too, but sadly they haven't been banned. I have seen some that are large enough that it would be difficult for a kid to swallow them.
Load More Replies...those grow capsules caused a complete water disaster at my house when my son put one in the bathroom sink, plugged the drain, and walked out. There was no overflow on that sink...
I think the water disaster was caused by your son, not by the innocent toy :D

(28F ) I always wanted a princess tea party as a kid and was never able to
Belfette replied:
37F, never got to have them as a kid either, so a few years ago (prepandemic) I planned an Alice and Wonderland themed tea party for my coworkers. Best thing I ever did.
Every year on my daughters birthday we have a birthday princess tea party w her childhood toy tea set. We started when she was one. She's 19 now and we still do it every year early in the morning on her bday. I decorate the table w balloons and decorations, wrap her presents, and make a small cake that looks like a Barbie in a dress. It's like a small surprise. She loves it and it's just her and I. I hope to always do this w her no matter how old she gets.

Nerf guns

I get these for white elephant gift exchanges. People usually like getting them and immediately start using them.
These make a good cat toy, shoot them across the room and the cat will chase the dart.
OK I'm in they love the laser but they could actually catch these!

I've never been to a Disney theme park. Before we were married my wife promised me that we'd eventually go. Still waiting for that day.
I hear it's hours and hours of standing in line and much of Main Street "shops" are not real except for a few. I still would like to go.
It's really expensive & complicated now. You gotta do a ton of research & planning before you go!
Load More Replies...It really depends on the ride. I waited in line for two hours to ride Tower of Terror a ride I was terrified of because I have a phobia of elevators. However, I faced my fears, rode it, and absolutely loved it. One of the rides I didn't mind waiting hours for, and was totally worth it. If the line hadn't been long, I know I would have backed out, so the long line actually helped to ease my mind.
Load More Replies...At Disney World, you can pay to park, then ride the monorail for free all day, can stop at the resorts along the way (The Grand Floridian is amazing!) Way more fun than actually riding the lame rides in the theme park.
I'd rather just walk around than go on most of the rides.

My grandparents and I go every other year and we're going in June this year and we're all excited. I hope you get to go someday.
I went to Disney/universal with my partner right before my kids came into existence. We hired a muscle car and went wild. I was late 20s and it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I still dream about that trip, so much fun all the kid stuff with the added bonus of beer. I found out I was pregnant the day after we got back.
What I really really want is for all those incredible happy and fun toddler clothes and prints to be made in adult size, because that's my middle-aged aesthetic.
Cute clothes, 100%. I still want to get myself a cute bunny winter hat that's also a scarf and mittens. Anybody who thinks I'm too old for it can go suck on a lemon. Edit: I went and got one. It'll be too late for winter this year, but I'll have it for next year. :)
Load More Replies...I don't care anymore if someone looks at me when I'm wearing a band aid with a cute bunny or other funny drawings. No, I'm not a kid anymore but I just like them.
I'm a great gift giver. I love to give the perfect gift. I listen all year and make notes when someone says they want or like something. I love making baskets w all the things people like too. And when it comes to my daughter I really go all out w the surprises every birthday Christmas and Easter. She loves when I wrap every single little thing in her stocking too.
I feel sorry for all the people who think those fun things only belong to kids. I mean, we are all still kids at heart, buy the onesie, buy that remote racing car, play hide and seek with your friends. Who cares what other people think. Live your life to the fullest with all the toys you want !
Yeah, and on the other side, don't gatekeep people out of your Very Serious hobby because they aren't as serious about it. It's cool to build the Lego Titanic, for sure, but it's also cool to build a 20 piece lego Harry Potter... even if you are a 50 year old lawyer (just to be clear, Lego enthusiests are not actually a community I have seen gate keeping trouble with, it's just a familiar example).
Load More Replies...It's funny (meaning "very sad") how adults all still have a kid inside them, but the majority don't know how to deal with it and think it's bad. All grown ups are kids with much more experience. There is absolutely no reason to feel bad because something that makes you happy when you were younger still makes you happy.
I still want all the lego, transformers, hot wheels, etc that I asked for as a kid and never got because "GiRlS aReN't AlLoWeD tO pLaY wItH bOy ToYs!"
I have everything I need (which is little), so my gift of choice is: nothing. Please let my birthday or Christmas pass without giving me stuff I don't actually need.
Puppets. I love puppets. Also, I don't understand why they are not more common as gifts for kids, too. They can be taken anywhere and inspire creative play.
i once went to central park when i was a kid & saw a man with a puppet (not a hand puppet, it was a marionette). he had a basket for donations & he was making his puppet walk, dance, & so much more. it was years ago so i don't remember exactly what he did, but i do remember the absolute joy & awe i felt standing & watching the magic of puppetry. more puppets, please!! it's a lost art.
