Chicago-based artist Shawn Bowers started a project that hasn't been done before. It's called Garfemon and the idea is simple - to mash the original 151 Pokemon characters with Garfield, the famous lasagna loving cartoon cat.

The amazing thing is that Shawn manages to keep the identities of both the ginger cat and Pokemon monsters while at the same time creating a totally original new character design. He has already made 46 of 151 mashups, so many more Garfemons are coming soon.

In 2013 Garfield was crowned by the Guinness World Records as the world's most widely syndicated comic strip (roughly 2,580 newspapers and journals featured it). However, these cool drawings are without a doubt something new in the Garfield universe!
