For any avid gamer, a gaming setup is somewhat of a sacred place. It doesn’t matter if it’s super lavish or low-key and simple, it’s where you spend your time tuning into another world, embarking on adventures, meeting friends, and streaming. That’s your ultimate comfort zone.

But it turns out that gaming setups, just like everything else in this world, are not immune to having a threatening aura. According to Urban Dictionary, the term “threatening aura” refers to that of “a place, person or object that makes you feel like you're in danger just by looking at it, sometimes characterized by unsanitary condition.” Another online dictionary offers this definition: “The juxtaposition of morbid and farcical elements (in writing or drama) to give a disturbing effect.”

Now put it in the context of gaming: think of the battle station where all the action takes place, and imagine it having a threatening aura. If that’s too big of a job for you, let me present you this entertaining Facebook group “Gaming Setups With Threatening Auras” which will do the job for us.

Home to 145.5K members, the group is dedicated to sharing pictures of the most hilariously threatening gaming setups that will make you look twice and thrice, and then stare some more.

Never use zip ties to bundle cables... Way to eat to snip through a wire if you need to re route stuff. Pipe cleaners or hook and loop wraps are the way to go

I once cleaned out a PC that was much worse than this. Had to take it out to the back alley so I didn't kill my coworkers. But at least it came from the shop of a tractor dealership and not somebody's house.

Do people not know that they can buy cheap compressed air canisters at the dollar store and use them to remove the dust buildup on their computer towers (and other computer components)???? They're cheaper than the ones at a hardware store if you're lucky. You can also use them for cleaning out the bathroom ceiling fan in your home. Those are almost always filthy. Tip: do NOT use them to get rid of dust and thread/fabric fibers in your sewing machine or serger!! That just spreads the dust around and can be forced into places it can't get out of and the cold air it produces can also introduce moisture to your machine's metal parts.

This is unfortunately a lot more common than you'd think. I have a friend who lives with her hoarding, lazy parents. She's been trying to clean up the house for her sake but is overwhelmed. She's been making some improvements but is struggling to get it all done and is the only one in the household trying to clean. I'm not sure how she stays sane and motivated to do anything.

I used to wash out pcs used on a factory floor that would fill up with oil. It's safe as long as you properly dry them. I would usually remove all fans and regrease thier sleeves since the oil in the factory would brake it down.

I mean… it’ll keep your gfx card cool, I guess, but it’s at risk of being stolen by an unscrupulous human… or a curious raccoon who likes the chromatics XD

Is it excessive? Yes. Will he lose $10,000,000,000 in trading like the guy above? Ehh maybe.

Hey, those touchpads are NICE. And when you get used to a keyboard, you get used to a keyboard and you don’t wanna change XD I’ve been using my original Alienware keyboard for two decades. I don’t like the new mechanical keyboards.

Would've been cheaper to buy a new chassis for the AIO rather than a riser.

I typically game on a stool. Sit/stand desk & stool. If I’m having a long run, 3+ hours, trying to finish a quest or boss, I wear myself out and let it go until later. If I used my chair, I’d get too sucked in until I killed the boss or finished the quest. The stool and sitting/standing helps me self-regulate my gaming time.
