“This Isn’t Even My Job”: Delayed Passengers Receive Perplexing Response From Airline Clerk
A group of Frontier Airlines passengers who had their flight delayed for three hours had to deal with an additional unpleasant situation when a furious operations worker yelled at them at customer service.
The passengers were expected to fly from Denver, Colorado, to Tampa, Florida, according to the New York Post.
“Frontier flight 2746 at Denver 3/17/24. Delayed 3 hours, then 25 of us got ‘involuntarily bumped’ and sent to customer service, where there are no agents,” the caption of a passenger’s video posted on Monday (March 18) read.
- 25 Frontier Airlines passengers were "involuntarily bumped" after having their flight delayed for three hours.
- An operations worker was caught yelling at passengers seeking help.
- The airport admitted they were short-staffed after passengers knocked on customer service door for answers.
“The gate attendants scattered so someone knocked on the door to see what’s going on and this ensued.”
The video of the “wild interaction” shows the group in front of two workers who were visibly overwhelmed by the situation.

Occasionally, airlines may “bump” passengers and have them give up their seats. According to the US Department of Transportation, this occurs when there are more passengers scheduled to fly on an airplane than available seats.
“I will call the police,” one of the workers warned from behind the counter.
“We are busy,” he added, holding his hands up to stress his point.
“There are six stalls, where the f*** is everybody?” a heated passenger can be heard yelling back, to which the worker replied, “Busy!”
“Just communicate with your employees,” a passenger then requested in a calmer tone.

The agitated worker explained, “This isn’t even my job; I’m in operations.”
“Everyone who works here is busy.”
“Any Frontier employee to come and tell us [will do],” the calm yet resigned passenger said, requesting updates about the situation afflicting him and the other 24 travelers.
A third employee then took center stage, apologizing to the frustrated travelers and announcing a quick break.
“I want to apologize; we are short-staffed,” the budget airline worker said.
“I will be back in about 25 minutes; give me a moment,” she added before walking off camera.

TikTok users reacted to the chaotic scene, with one person writing, “I stopped flying Frontier a year ago. Always a delay, gate change or something. I will pay a little extra and use United!!!!”
“Frontier is the worst but it’s not the employees fault. Some of them can be horrible though. Seems like this man was overwhelmed,” another person said.
Somebody else echoed this feeling. “Poor worker. I feel like he is stressed, overworked and at a breaking point.”

A separate person shared their negative experience with another of the airline’s staffers, commenting, “One time a frontier employee yelled at me at the gate because apparently the ticket isn’t mine (it is) and then denied me flying because I was traveling alone (I was 19!) They gave me [a] 10$ voucher.”
“All this just for knocking on the door?” a perplexed user wondered.
“This is why I teleport everywhere I go,” somebody else joked.
Many people criticized the airline and said the clerk looked like he was “overworked”
Frontline jobs can be really hard. They're usually not decision-maker roles and they're also victims of the management chain that's failed to foresee this and have a plan.
I'm glad people are finally (publicly) acknowledging the other side of the story. Some are always so quick to take the recorded end of the situation as the whole story.
